Hey sub drivers,

Now i almost got me Redoutable, i expect some speed and air from it....
Well, is it really that fast and can it stay underwater from some times?

I was about to put on:
t?
2 torpers
1 bo
1 sonar
1 planes
1 engy (2 if theres space on support slot)
1 rep (on gun slot?)

Will the rep work on the gun slot?
Is it worth it?

Rick here is my MN SS4 setup (btw I have all 5 SS4's)

Support Slot 1 - Chief Planesman EBVE - Classed on time - Level 89
Support Slot 2 - 1st Engy EBVE - Classed on time - Level 86
Support Slot 3 - 1st Engy EBVE - Classed on time - Level 86
Support Slot 4 - Chief Soanrman EBVE - Classed on time - Level 88
Front Torpedo Slot - Heavy Torpedoman EBVE - Classed on time - Level 91
Deck Gun Slot - 1st Rep EBVE - Classed on time - Level 87
BO Slot - +14 Pot with 0 Rookies, 0 Experts and 35 Vets
Rear Torpdeo Slot - Heavy Torpedoman EBVE - Classed on time - Level 91

Armor - 0.2 Belt only
SD - 900
Speed - 27/38 - It is not speed capped, but I carry the full torpedo load out.

The repairman works just fine on the gun slot. I also have found that the sonarman
works in any support slot vice.

Wingmann
- Dive time doesn't get modified by the quality or quantity of your crew
- A repairman WILL work on the gun slot.

if u keep an empty sonarman,
it will give u a basic detection and a bit longer range than DD.
however, it will not be able to see enemy Submarine before they fire torpedo due to that
range limitation. you may be passive in every submarine close combat and need to dodge
torpedo fristly everytime.

if you are going for Anti-Submarine warfare, you will need a full sonar onboard.

As for the sonarman, on my SS i have him stripped down to reduce as much weight as
possible, I had heard that no matter how many recruits it had, the detection radius stayed
the same. If this is true, doing that would loosen up some weight to get some speed

All my crew except BO is BVE so i got 2 belt and like 4 bulge now.

=============================================
Given: in test server, 120 level submarine with max repair cap is powerful.
In practical this is a dream.

notes about the following:
- Operator must be naked (no recuit).
- Scout is not available in SS.
- Repairer work in gun slot.
- Engy best to be better repair 11/12, if you put repairer, SD will be full
- Delaying sonarman / planesman give you good stats, however,
new theory in forum saidthat, there's no cap in sonar / air.
- without planesman (or less than 80% recuits), you will start with no gas
and suffer from extra recharge time.
- stacking of airman don't help you

Things that are essential:
1 BO
1 Air
1 Sonar
1-n Engineer
1-2 Repairer (in R slot)
1 front torpman

optional thing you can do:
1 backward torpman
- choose from naked backward torpper / full powerful backward torpper
- sonarman with 1 expert / full powerful sonarman / delayed sonarman
- 0.2" belt, 1 bulge if there's enough displacement before dropping a knt

That is my experience and the fact is in a SS3 my dive time is 3 mins, which I
presume is down to the fact of having a high lvl crew.

As for supports I have also found that their abilitly is not enough to warrent the
penalty their extra weight imposes, unfortunately a sub has little margin for error in
this respect.

Getta don't spread false info. Higher level crews DO NOT GIVE MORE DIVE TIME.
Supports do work in gun slots except engies. So seems pretty good.

Sounds about right for your SD but putting anything in your gun slot is a waste of
speed by having all that dead weight.

Your dive time is a lttle low, mine was 3mins on a SS3 but that will increase as your
crew gain experience.
