ive used the kita befor and with AA high lvl AA its not so good reloads to long i never
tried T slots with HH but i only find it good for torps

You can hunt anything if you can run away from your wall of death fast enough :P

Kita is a great asw ship. I tried myself. It's so fast and it can reach every point on
time due to it's perfect speed. You can hunt any ss around it.

decent sonar man and 14 HH...... any sub that I come in contact with dies. That goes for
enemy ff/dd/cl/ca as well. You can also hammer enemy bb's with HH as well. I've sunk
several bb 1-3 that have ignored me to boot. Well worth the money spent.

I think the main reason is that the Kita turns too slow (from my recollection, it's been a
while since I played one). You need a more agile ship for ASW.

And I agree that it's better as a TW ship. If it wasn't so good at TW it would probably be
used more as ASW.

When you ASW, you put all your eggs in one basket, that is, you need to have subs left
or in the game at all to get any attack. Having said that, a Torp/DC hybrid might
be something to try. Using torps may force the sub to crit dive and while it's doing that,
you move on top for a DC run. If there are no subs, then you can still use the torps.

Kita is also more effective in a TW role in general.

"why doesn't any Kita use DC and be a killer ASW ship?"

I can think of a few reasons:

1. ASW gives low exp (Compared to AA)
2. Depth Charges are capable of hurting you aswell as hurting the subs.
3. Kita is a slower,larger target compared to DD's and FF's.
