Hey pants I posted this because he was a member of my family. Not cause his story is
ahead of anyone else this was someone close to me. The Flag flies at my home almost
every day. It is Half-Mast so often for fallen american servicemen/women I can hardly
keep count anymore. Memorial Day and Veterans Day are for all those who have
served and/or died serving under that flag. We honor them all on those days. This was
just my way of honoring him.

Ralph Hammond will be buried at the National Cemetery located on the grounds of the
Veterans Hospital in Dayton OH on April 11th with full military honors alongside his wife
who waited for him all those years ago and who has been waiting for him yet again for
the last 16 years. May they both find peace together.

Hmmm.... I have no nothing against Ralph Hammond... may he rest in peace....

However I don't really want to see this board cluttered with a daily RIP post for every
vet that has died...

For example... on 28th Feb there should been an RIP post for Frank Buckles the last
doughboy (WW1) who was later a POW in WW2. But he didn't get an RIP post here like Ralph
Hammond...

The correct time to remember ALL of them is on Veterens Day (US) or Remembrance Day (UK)
or whatever day people have in their respective countries.

Today is my birthday. And for a few years now i've been using it to think about my
grandfather among many who stood up in ww2 & winter war. And i thank them all for
what they did. And my blessings go out to them all even tho i consider myself non-
religous. But I think this is a subject everyone could unite in. They where all heores.
Dunkirk, Bulge, omaha, gold beach, midway, ihantala, and many more...I dedicate this
day of my 20th birthday to them all. I thank them all for giving us a future in exchange
for their many lives.

You can thank Hitler for the E-series, Maus, Natter, and other crazy prototypes, which you
now enjoy in certain games.

If you can find a pressing WWII related issue that has somehow in any small way affected
WWII in the modern world, ill be more then happy to sticky it, if its reasonable.
