Ok I found the proposal.

I'm going to dig through it for myself. It's the only way I can figure out what is really
in it. If you watch fox it's the new bible. If you watch MSNBC or read the huffington post
its hitlers mein kampf.

Here's the link if anyone is interested.

Ok I see where your coming from.

Though I don't consider many of those to be pro business. The thing I personally like is
the only thing that both ryan and obama agree on. They want to lower the corporate tax to
25% but close all the loop holes that some corporations where using to skip out on taxes.
It would be budget neutral but would force the bad companies to pay what they should while
rewarding the ones who have paid like they should.

The EPA thing. Isn't that simply taking away Obama's control of the EPA? Sorry i haven't
honestly read ryans bill.

Mainly because I don't think it has a snowballs chance in hell of being passed. Balancing
the budget is a good idea but as long as the dems need entitlements to buy elections it
isn't happening.

The budget battle has a number of pro-business items that the Republicans are insisting
on. Funding issues for the EPA, funding for enforcement of last year's financial
overhaul, and to a lesser but related extent funding for NPR and the things Paul Ryan's
budget proposal would do for the insurance industry. (Though that last one isn't part of
the shutdown/no-shutdown fight.)

@storm
What do you mean? I don't see much about the budget issues that has to do with big business.

We need Bill Hicks' "People Against People" party added into the mix.

The Reps are indeed screwed. More than most of the other hippocrats in congress, they're
serving the interests of the Business Elite, and those people are noted for not caring
about people other than themselves. If the very rich have decided that wildly unpopular
things must be done to secure the wealth of the wealthiest, then it will be the
Republicans who will pay the price of doing it for them.

But they gave up on fiscal conservatism in the 80's. Anyone who thinks it's more recent
than that isn't looking at the actual legislation being pushed.

IMO no matter how much the dems and reps demonize the tea party politicians they are the
only ones currently willing to commit political suicide for the greater good of the country.

The other politicians reps and dems just want to buy an election.

I see this ending like this.

The gov will shut down and be restarted piece meal. They will fight over every little
dollar. And IMO rightly so. This is the tea party plan.

Dems could stop all this but are looking ahead to capture future elections by demonizing
the tea party politicians and will then purchase the poor vote by promising to restore and
probably raise benefits.

And the reps are screwed. Period. Reps are stuck in the middle and getting kicked in the
jimmies. Serves them right for abandoning fiscal conservatism under the bush admin.

We would not be in this mess if the Democratic Congress and the Democratic
President had done their jobs and passed a budget last year. What a bunch of Tax
and Spend losers!
