  • Should I class my fighter pilot to ACE fighter ?

I am a noob as a CV player, or by technically speaking I have not play a single battle
as a CV player yet, but I am willing to become a good team player to make my side
win (since I was always on the blind side, and I think some of BB players could feel
my pain).
Futher more, I checked old posts on the forum, and it seems like bomber skill will not
do anything for fighter at all, and I get the idea about delay would give more growth
rate compare with class those fighters on time.
The confusing part for me is some people stated that class fighters to the ACE than
keep it that way, and some people stated that keep them as fighter pilot till lv120.
my situation is:
8 elite boosted fighter, lv60 now, willing to get vets / experts if necessary.

What should I do to get the best outcome?

Any tip will be appreciated.

Well I classed my fighters as Squad Leaders and I don't have much trouble. :)

As long as I manage them right, I eat through most planes or hold my own and I am not
quite to 120 yet. ;)

if you are going to set your vets up to 230 or more, then just delay.
if you are going to set your vets up to 220, then both is ok.
if you are going to set your vets up to less than 220, then just class on time.
and the data is collected based on fighters lv 120.

the road to 120 is longer than you thought, be prepared~

For US, if you were to go above 120vets and under 2xx something <--then ace

To summarize, for US.

Anything between ~ 120 vets to 200 to 230 (don't remember the exact) it's Ace.

Anything under or above fighter.

I don't know what in the nine hells got into me but I forgot to class 4 out of the 6 neuts
to US at lvl 1, so I classed them to US at lvl 12, by the time you can make them Special
Force. Compared to the other 2 Elite neuts which are already lvl 18 they seem to lose
about 50 ability compared to the ones "nationed" at lvl 1. Am I able to catch up on that
on the long run or ist going to hurt them a lot?

Ok, i did some math here too. Based on what i read. Can someone tell me if im wrong or im
correct cuz i want to know if my way of using the formulas is correct.

Example pilot : US - full EBVE level 120
1) Classed only figher: 650 crew - 3703 ability displayed - 260 vets max
2) Classed ace pilot : 590 crew - 3919 ability displayed - 236 vets max
3) Classed sq leader : 545 crew - 4027 ability displayed - 218 vets max.

So based on adalbert guides for true ability calculation (lets assume full crew for all
cases and 0 rokies to make the other factor 1):
(4*Nvets + Nexp)*(abilty displayed) = true ability

Lets review with our example pilots at diferent vets value:
109 vets - 150 vets - 210 vets - 240 vets - Max vets (#)
1) 3'015,022 - 3'394,600 - 3'950,080 - 4'227,820 - 4'412,980 (260vets)
2) 2'994,922 - 3'396,640 - 3'984,520 - cant reach - 4'239,268 (236vets)
3) 2'926,432 - 3'339,220 - 3'943,300 - cant reach - 4'023,844 (218vets).

Based on these numbers i see that below 147 vets is better stay with only fighter.
Between 148 and 236 vets is better ace pilot. And over 241 vets again only fighters.

Well unless im doing something wrong (in that case i would love if you tell me where my
error is to not make the same mistake again), this is the general picture.

100ish would mean that I want to have them BVE as soon as possible (maybe only by means of
excessive AAing and burning). Then, getting them to let's say 110-130 vets is not THAT
hard (requires a huge amount of burnt experts nevertheless, I know). Everything above
110-130 vets would be nice but I don't feel like burning a brazillion of experts for
nothing due to the utterly low conversion success rate.

Richard's graph is interesting. Not stating I'm a good CV player but I had my share of CV
matches (IJN CV5) so I know my way around, hence the question remains somewhat open. It's
a delicate matter since I don't feel like ruining those Elite sailors since I hardly ever
buy elites in the store.

What I do know now is that it doesn't make sense to class them to SqL.
Yet, I might need more advice regarding whether I should class them to ACE on time or not.

Sorry for being a nuisance but you guys know that the NF system/mathematics tend to be a
complex matter. I guess richard could write an entire book about that issue.

One thing to keep in mind is that at high levels you wont notice much of a difference
between regular fighter and proper squad leaders. In mid levels it will be the most
noticeable, especially with greater possible vets.

Hi Doomraver.
Long answer---
whats mr. V2CxBongRipz saying is correct, but it only based on calculating the true
ability for lv 120 sailors (i was using 2 tools that i found in other posts and my own
results by using excel). Also, the differences between classing to ACE on time and
not classing at all are only makes a little difference for the true ability category
starting from 200+ vets. Futher more, based on my research, there are no absolute
answer for whether there is a fighter ability cap or not at this time, so i assume the
higher ture ability is the better results gonna be. Therefore, crew size is the key
factor for all nation fighters. If you class them at lv 60, you will lose 60 crews, if you
class them to SQ leader, u will lose even more. For this game, we only could get
maximum 40% vets on sailors. So, for the long run, I still think not class at all is a
better choice, since even with 120 vets, the true ability only make a little different
compare with class them on time ( a bit lower) , however you always have the
chance to get more vets because of 650 crew size in future( good fighers gonna
make lots of credits and points, also as more you play, vets are not gonna be a
problem even without spend real money ).

Short answer---3 opinions
1.not class is better for the long run. (200---260 vets) 260 makes huge difference
compare with other opinions.
2.class to ACE if you only want to play until CV6 for HA.
3.class to ACE on time, class to SQ leader at lv100, 100vets or even less won't hurt
you with average play skill ( a little micro management ).

The keyword here is *100ish vets*

Brown is fighter
This is KM. The phenomenon is similar to US fighter.
