  • Golden Angle Andrea Doria AD PBB AA Anti-Air premium 3.5 3.5

    12. 24. 2007 12:26

Brookster
I looked around the forums here for quite a while and was unable to find any
definitive reference to the golden angle for the premium 3.5" single AD AA guns. So
I figured it out from other sources and my own successful AA endeavors.

It's 32 degrees.

These work nicely on the back 5 T slots and have (conveniently) the same reload
and flight path as the 5"/61 KM 40 (lvl 42) guns which fit on the front 2 T slots
making for a fine combined fit.

The strange title for this thread is to hopefully help others find this information via
the search function.

Sincerely,

Brooks

BB2 or PBB, its sure a hell of a lot better than the Scharnhorst. That ship is useless
in GBs... well... not useless, but unless you know what the hell you are doing, you
might as well just sink yourself when battle starts. I usually only use it for backline
battles (CA and lower, inculding subs, that get in behind the main BB lines). Other
than that, the range is good compared to other BB1/2. But if you try to get in range
on anything over that and they see you and have decent gunners and know their
ranges, you are a 1 shot wonder.

Ive been using 33 or 32 since the Moltke(33 is perfect for that ship)... I HATE the
loss in range the AD has had over the past month :( Makes me pretty much engage
just about NOTHING outright anymore... and I look at the AD as not a PBB either...
its just another BB2....

I enjoy using the 32 or 33 angle. I found 31 to be a bit low. I tend to knock more
planes out of the sky with 32 or 33 angle. Just depends on where the planes are
really. Anyway, good info here.

higher level AA gunners on a ship give the ship better AAW protection (the automatic
small-caliber guns). You're probably seeing a difference between AD's with at-level
AA gunners (60's) and AD's with level 100'ish AA gunners.

Just a quick little question some what realted to topic.

How do some AD's have wicked rapid fire machine guns and other don't? I 've seen
other BB's with it to. You know, not the AA you mount but the little guns that are
automatic.

KM 40's in the front T slots and the single the AD came with in the Back.
AD is a good AA ship....32 angle for me.

I've gotten to the point of using pure PBB AA for the AD due to weight issues. I tried 32
and 33 for a while, but I didn't hit planes where I wanted to, then a fleetmate told me it
was 31, and it worked.

mixing them with KM40s probably works best at 32, but pure singles works at 31 for me.

EDIT: looked at the date, good that it was bumped. good for people to know.
