I'm wondering if all subs have identical dive times. If possible, could we compile all
this stuff together? Also, I do recall critical dive as being double air usage, but I
have yet to verify that.

Thanks for your help, I'll get my Junsen on the stop watch ASAP.

Red Zone - Flashing Lights for Low Air ~ 20-25 seconds.
Critical Dive - 180DP per second until you reach 24% of your DP.
Critical does not use more air AFAIK.

IJN
Vickers L3 - 120 seconds
Junsen Type-1 - 140 seconds
Kaidai-VIA - 160 seconds
??? (?)

US
O-Type (?)
S-Type (?)
Barracuda - 155 seconds
??? (?)

RN
H type - 110 seconds
Oberon - 130 seconds
P type - 150 seconds
??? (?)

KM
Type II - 105 seconds
Type VIIA - 135 seconds
Type VIIC (?)
??? (?)

Just to check - the planesman's status affects the rate at which you recover air only or
does he somehow affect how much air you use under water?

I know he definitely affects how quickly you get your air back above water - as it took
forever to get my gauge refilled originally but now it goes by a lot faster.

Okay so, if there's a pattern in the dive times, that means that the level and the
number of experts and vets of your planesman does contribute to the duration of
your diving time?

As it seems you missed or dissed my first post here's again
Type II 1:50 (110s)
VII C 2:30 (150s)

So definately there's a pattern, 20sec / ship with KM being the worst?

Its not like the noobs in this game will bother trying to avoid an SS when they see it
heading directly at them.

barracuda has about 154 seconds

give or take a few seconds to account for when you started timing and when you stopped.

Your strategy works, but I think one of the downsides to it is that the enemy will be
alerted to your presence.

@mihen1

I use the same stratagy. works pretty well as long as they dont get lucky with that first
salvo. I also like to tail ships that will be higher up on the food chain. So the enemy is
distracted and might not notice me. I can usually make it half way across the map before
having to dive.

I like to conserve air. Usually I stay surfaced until shells land around me then dive.
After about 5~10 seconds, I resurface. When I am resurfaced I have about 3~5
seconds before I get shot at again. So I count to 5 then redive. Its pretty effective
way to get way back to the CVs.

Kaidai-VIA:
i got 160sec

Vickers L3 - 120 seconds
Junsen Type-1 - 140 seconds
Kaidai-VIA - 160 seconds

I think i see a pattern
1 2 3
