  • USN Gun Range Chart [11/23/2009]

Battleship guns updated!

USN gun ranges as found by me. These numbers are not "word of God" 100% accurate,
especially the DD/CL/CA guns which I did many in mass batches.

Battleship guns were tested using a Montana with BB FCS 2 and lvl105 gunners except 12"
Pattern 1907 which obviously were done with a Sevestopol, BB FCS 1, and lvl105 gunners.
Other guns were collected with a Pensacola w/BB FCS1 and lvl97 gunners. I do not have
access to any of the USN 18" guns, thus they are not on the chart. Given it took me 10
months to get around to leveling into my Montana, don't hold your breath waiting for them
to be added.

All guns are measured to within 1/10 of a large marking grid dot. Battleship guns have
greater error, so my information is best guess. For scale purposes, 1/2 of a major grid
dot is approximately the width of a Montana, and 4 1/2 major dots is approximately the
length of a Montana.

DD/CL/CA Single Turrets

DD/CL/CA Twin Turrets

DD/CL/CA Triple Turrets

Battleship Turrets

Yes, the range difference in line battles is not that great (maybe a small Dd length), but
what makes the NCs guns real good is their better max angle... though it is harder to hit
the armor penetration is better and when running you get a great range advantage... but
don't ever try to chase somebody with the NC guns... then its the other way round.

The NC 16" gun has a little bit better range than the SD 16" gun ?

Some of these numbers weren't that accurate at the time of posting, and now with the
BB34AA patch out more of them are off than before. More to the point I still don't have a
BB5/6... in any case don't hold your breath waiting for an update to any of the data.
Others are more than welcome to use it to create updated charts, though. I stick a note
in the first post about it.

Nothing changed for the 16" / 50 cal Mark 3 except spread and level.

But the 16" / cal 45 Mark 6 now have better range... it is said L type has range of 16"/
cal 50 Mark 7 (Iowa Ns)

Wodyo
any updates?? Mark 3 trip 16" for the SoDak are no longer lvl 75/77, and I know the
accuracy on said guns have been increased. Has anything been adjusted in the
range or do these guns still go limp at the though of range
