Holder post. If you could not figure out, these are all separate solutions, NOT one giant
solution in steps

Before I move on, I'd just like to clarify something about Hackshield.
There are MANY other games that use HackShield (Maplestory, Combat Arms, War Rock to
name a few). Also, a different anti-cheat software called Punkbuster is much more intrusive
than Hackshield. In the case of Punkbuster (which is HackShield x2), many more games such
as the Battlefield series, Call of Duty series, Need for Speed, F.E.A.R., Medal of Honor
and many more use it. Hell, even the US Army uses Punkbuster in its full glory for
America's Army 2 and 3. Hackshield is a legitimate anti-cheat program that has been around
for a while and has been trusted by literally HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of players across the
gaming world. It will not steal your personal info, nor release it.

Here's a list of known HS problems and fixes:

Soldier,

I've manage to solve my "error in update function" error. I am using XP and I realise
that you are probrably just concerning Vista and 7. In order to solve my issue I am
being required to go "run as" on the NavyField Launcher and then with the "Current
User" selected seeing as I am the administrator anyway I then need to uncheck
the "Protect From Unauthorized Program Activity" option. Now this is rather
annoying to be required to do every time. I must also point out that I seem to be
able to use compatibility modes in the times I've used this.

However once the HackShield update concludes and the HackShield starts I continue
to be stuck at the desktop until the boom goes. Although I guess this is "normal"
seeing as its just minimising and maximising the loading page in order to start
HackShield right? And when I used to minimise the game during the loading pages it
would do much the same. I seem to continue to be experiencing poorer performance
and lag in battle also.

I guess the reducded performace and lag is just due to my computer being
inadequate (1.5 GHz processor with 512 Mb memory and 64 Mb graphics card
although thats the recommended specs or at least those that were last produced)
and that the HackShield being dumped in has just pushed this over the edge to give
me continuous sporadic performance and lag issues.

Also why could they not have just lumped updating the HackShield into the
NavyField updates? And also just have the game start once HackShield is started
rather than lumping these two during NavyFields loading?

I'm constantly crashing in every game i join. I have already turned off compatibility
mode and disabled visual themes and i have added navyfield and navyfield updater
to the Data Execution Prevention i have made sure my firewall and antivirus are up-
to-date and i run the game as an administrator yet in every game i join as soon as
everyone starts forming the BB lines etc my navyfield stops working with no error
code or anything.

I haven't been able to play a single game for 3 or 4 days... so i think i may just learn
German and go play NFEU if this thing cannot be sorted

@SkSSoldier-

While its nice and all that you are doing this, doesnt this alone seem ludicrous? all this
BS just to play navyfield? a below average game with ridiculous amounts of system drains
and now a keylogger and rootkit that while everyone claims is safe his in the past been
proving to steal bank account information and has even been hacked by hackers and turned
against the person stuck using it?

Windows key will work to key you to desktop if you do it before you accept the EULA, and
then continue to work afterwards without HS thinking it is a hacking attempt.

If you have gamevance unistall it. It runs in the background if you have it and causes a
crash with hackshield.

try replacing this hackshield with navyfield's hackshield. This is sort of a last-ditch
thing, so tell me how it goes.
