  • USN DD, CL, CA Guide

LordKelvin
Welcome to my guide on the ships of the United States Navy in Navy Field! This
guide is a compilation of the knowledge of many players, new and veteran alike, and
is always growing. If you feel that something needs to be added, simply post in this
thread (or even better, send me a message) and I'll see if it's worth adding. I'm
always looking for more viewpoints about the ships in the game, so don't hesitate to
add something.

While the US is listed as being the most balanced nation in NF, many veteran players
will say otherwise from experience. Nonetheless, the US can be a fun nation to play;
some times you'll be very happy that you chose the US as your nation, though there
will also be times when you'll wonder why you chose it in the first place. It's true
that the US doesn't have any real strengths, but it also doesn't have many glaring
weaknesses, as the other nations do.

Oh, my bad, those guns were removed in the patch, I just forgot to remove that part from
the guide.

hey LK, I've notice that for some reason I can't find the dual 12" you talked about for
the Baltimore. I have lvl 52 gunners, and still no dual 12" insight. Did they get rid of
this option after blitz was formed or do you know otherwise? I really want to try out
those duals even with their terrible range and reload, just to see if I can teach this old
balti some new tricks.

"to much info just a waste of time to read it all"

If you think it's a waste of time, then that's your opinion. But for those that do have
some patience and do want to get better at this game, I'm sure that they'll take the time
and be able to do what you didn't do.

Though I think that you're just pissed over your spamming attempt being stopped by me, so
I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt and ignore what you said.

The very reason that I created this guide was because all of the other information in this
subforum was extremely outdated; evilcommie's guide dates back to beta, and since then a
lot of things have changed to render his guide obsolete. Similarly, just searching for
threads on your own doesn't always guarantee a hit since results that date back to beta
won't be quite as informative as newer threads, and those threads just tell you to use the
search function.

Plus, since I'm an OpenNF tester, I had access to the new patch info for months, so you
can be assured that the second the patch hits the regular servers, this guide will be up
to date. :D
