  • DBs won't drop bombs

I'm stuck with this one....My DBs won't drop bombs.

My USN DB pilot has 50 vets and over 100 experts.   The planes leave with bombs as I see the number under the planes.
They are GP and not AP bombs.

The planes lock on target and dive.   In auto I can spam the mouse button and nothing happens.   In manual, I spam
the ; key  or the . key and nothing happens.   I changed the manual settings to m key and nothing happens.

I've tried it in GB, and in Missions.    The only damage that is done is that the planes Crash into the target due to AAW.
Either I'm doing something wrong, or I have some sort of corrupt file somewhere.   (Or I just Kamakazi targets from now
on)

Torp planes work fine.   Planes lock on...hit the . button and torps launch.

One funny thing....when I first got the DBs, the Dauntless names were in Red in the Console....even with bombs in the locker.
After a restart, the red went away.

I'm going to redownload and re-install the game and see if the problem goes away.   I have a help ticket in.

Anybody else seen this????   It's wierded me out.
Advice is welcome!

Spaming the the dropping key for manual isn't the way to do. You're just screwing up yourself if you just start manual DB.
Why spam when all you can do is waiting and enter the key at the right moment or just hold the button to make your life easier?



Else, I am not an auto DB fan so I won't explain.

It shouldn't be the client but you who didn't get used to DB yet.

I have held the ; key down before dive starts and after dive starts...no drop
I have held the . key down before dive starts and after dive starts...no drop
Changed key to M same thing
changed back to defaults same thing

So, I must be doing something wrong......but what????

Shouldn't be this hard......I can nail ships with torp planes no problem.
Can target ships with DB's but can't drop bombs.

Some one outline the steps for manual bombing and autobombing. (Prefer manual)
That way I can see what I'm doing wrong

Have you double-checked all the "obvious" things? Bombs loaded, planes/pilots of the right type and level?

You're supposed to right click again on the target the DBs locked onto while they are diving.

give your db pilot a good whiping.

That'll teach them!

Otherwise, do check your bombs to make sure they are correctly loaded.

Have you ever been able to use DB's before?
If so, when did this start happening?
Has anything changed on your computer that you know of?

What level is your pilot and what planes are you using?

Does manual work? Hit ; once, left click target, hold down . when they're close.

yes your doing it wrong
in manual db,

first mark your target with ( ; ), you will then notice a small green circle on the ocean, when it started to dive press ( . ) to drop their payload

i suggest to spam right-click.. its the drop-bomb-system for me haha, try it, you must spam it rapidly
