Hello everyone I have just gotten started with this game and had a few questions.  Most I suspect have been asked a thousand times but search failed to answer them so here I am.  The first thing is that I want to play a BB I was wondering which nations were the most beginner friendly.  My other question was which server currently has the most active player base.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer a noobs questions and I look forward to seeing you all in game.

You should have started 4 weeks ago. Also which server are you on?

US is good all around on BBs, their Jack of all traits. However if you want to be a good BB player in the long run, start with a much harder nation like Japanese, Krieg Marines, or the Soviets.

I am just downloading now but intend to be on the Nebraska server.  Also I was wondering if the BB starter pack in the store is worth the money?

The most beginner friendly nations do not make you go deeper into sailor classing and stuff like that.

All the nations are good in some sense, but it depends on your style of play.

U.S.: Jack of all trades (as Elliot stated)

R.N. (England): High armour, high firepower, slow reload-rate, average speed
(The  Tanks of NF)

I.J.N. (Japan): Low armour, High angle armour busting guns, average reload, average range. (The Orbital Bombardment of NF)

K.M. (Germany) Highest range, low damage, average speed, average armour
(Good linefighters)

M.N. (France): Similar to the US in that they are balanced, but are more geared toward hit-and-run tactics, small ship size, very powerful guns, average range, high speed, average armour. (The TF2 spy of NF, rush in while your enemy is blind and kill him before he can react.)

S.N. (Soviet Union): Like the KM, only with upgraded firepower in return for the  lowest speed of all BBs. (SN are the Artillery of NF)

R.M. (Italy): Newest nation out of the oven, it is still fresh and hot, but will be going through changes as time goes on. (ATM they are similar to france in BB play)

Choose wisely, and make sure to read the many guides out there, roll a +12 crew (or buy elites :P), and have fun!

ATM Nebraska has the highest amount of people (by a LOT).
But if you want to help make Kaiser the server it once was, (and get some more help from me/other guys willing to help ya) consider comming to Kaiser, and shoot me a PM. (Private message on the NF site/aka a "Memo")

Hope this helps you a tad.

Pick your favorite nation. They are all fun to play.

Make sure you get one sailor with +14 potential or better
Make sure you get two sailors that have gunner stats of 11/11 (acc/rel) or better.
Make sure you get 4 sailors with +11 or better repair (and also have +10 or better restore)
Make sure you get 4 sailors with +11 or better engineer (and +9 or better restore and repair).
Make sure you get a sailor with +10 or better air stat

Now, very quickly...
If you are going to go IJN or KM, get a second set of gunners with good reload and good AAW stat. Make sure to read the available information on how to class the gunners for good AA. The national sections usually have a guide that helps. It is a little tricky, so you want to make sure it is done right the first time.

If you are going USN, MN, and SN, then make sure to get a second set of gunners with, at least, +11 in the reload stat.

If you are going UK, you should get two more support sailors. Either get 2 more engineers or 1 engineer and 1 repairer.

If you need points, make a room and ask for give outs. Long time players have tens of millions of points and will usually give you them for free (NEVER PAY FOR POINTS!). This will help you roll new sailors and class them along the way.

Don't ever miss classing support sailors and your main gunners. You want them to be very good. And, take a look at the sailor tree in the game info section so you know when to class sailors. The levels vary and it is important to know when it is coming up. You don't want to accidentally class a sailor with +12 engineer as a repairer.

---------------------
Start leveling! Play in GBs. When you are a small FF/DD, hang around and stay alive, then try to kill a sub or finish off a crippled ship at the end of the game. If you can AA, even if you only get to one or two planes, do that.

Rotate the support sailors so that 3/4 don't get way out ahead of the others. I usually level a group of guys for 4 levels, then level the next group for 6 levels. Then, I just switch back and forth 4 levels at a time.

When your BO and gunners get to the 50s/60s, make a new BO and go the same nation. As he levels, you'll be leveling your gunners and support sailors from the first time. Choose the same nation, but go for the other BB line (there are usually two lines for CL/CA and BB123). That way, you'll be able to get a bunch of cool ships and your gunners/support will be ahead of your BO (this is important later in the game).

Past that, just play more and more. That's all there is to it.
-----------------------

Nebraska has the more active playerbase.
If you want to pay for premium stuff, get a subscription. Boost your gunners and engineers. Put experts on the support sailors and gunners (when an event comes around, burn them to try and get vets).

The end.

Also, go KM first.

Asagi

Going USA makes you average.

Going UK makes you a noob.

Going MN and SN make you average.

Going IJN makes you a man.

Going KM makes you Chuck Norris.

Going KM Battleships make you Jet Li.

havn't played many other nations but i can vouch for KM for some1 that's normaly lazy and likes things semi easy running km was pretty fun even with it's harshness. i my self am still semi new to the game as i am still learn things after 12+months and my tip to you is to not crack to peer pressure and use the aiming tower(auto & manual) and go with what is more suitable to you. the long time players of the game will tell you to use manual but i say play how you want.

Ok, First off: UK is a really forgiving nation. But classing the gunners (Main) Is a little tricky.

I would really recommend you go with USN or maybe UK. But Learning KM when new to the game will be frustrating unless you have tons and tons of patience. Mostly because KM ships are made of paper and rely on their good OH time and their good speed, and you can't really get these two untill you reach lvl 65+ with EBVE Engineers.

No, The BB starter pack is not worth it, better go with 2 elite gunners for main, 4/5 Elite engineers and 3/4 elite Repairers, and buy boosts for all of them. That Way you can get the best crew right from the beginning.

KM has really really good AA. Dast, decent range, and good hitting power. It will help you a lot to have a pair of High level KM AA gunners, that way you can put them on an emdem and then a moltke and level your sailors up relativetely fast.

On the other hand, you could go MN which is pretty much the same as KM, but has one gun that trades (Lots) of damage, for high reload speed and LOLsRange.

Also, if you are looking for nations that have good, organized guides, go with KM, USN or IJN. Of all the nations ,these have the best guides I've seen so far *Stares at ciscodelorum for making us wait for MN guie* LoL ,JK on that last part cisco.

Finding information on the other nations could be a little bit more tricky.

Also, remember to rotate your sailors, when at DD stage to provide ASW support (Will get you more exp and you will contribute a lot to your team), and that if you are joining Kaiser server, I will be glad to help you. I learned to play KM the Hardest way (Made mistakes with my sailors, got a CV, got a BB, got an SS, got another BB, got Another nation, got even another nation and here I am, waiting to level up an EBVE Engineer up to BB4 level LOLOLOL)

Hope this was helpful.

Thank you for all the help everyone.  I think I will be going with the US BB lines first.  I look forward to seeing all of you in game.
