All kidding aside North Korea is no joke. While it has been a number of year’s sine I have been to the DMZ I don’t imagine it has changed much. If a hot war comes in Korea again it will not be like Gulf 1 or 2 or Afghanistan. I.e. lopsided casualty numbers with **relatively....** low numbers of US KIA/WIA. The KIA/WIA would most likely be in the 10s of thousands with a million plus civilian casualties in very short order.
North Korea has the ability to land a ½ million artillery rounds on Seoul in the first hour of conflict. Even with a nuke the result would be catastrophic. I still have friends that live there. Who knows if they could even get out.
Their leader is a certifiable lunatic just like his father before him. But unlike his father he is not old enough to have seen first hand the results of the last full on war in Korea and have at least some understanding of the consequences of his actions if he even cares.
Pray that some sanity can come to this peninsula before it is too late.
