  • Simple questions about SS and CV

Hi all, I have a couple simple questions which could lead to bettering the game

 

About cv's:  At present i see many more bombers in NF than ever before.  This is likely due to several different things (more fun to bomb in some cases, can have a more obvious impact on the game, and you get MUCH more xp for bombing.)

 

q1: Do you think that a cv whom is running fighters only gets enough xp (feel free to talk about credit gain)?

I see fair numbers of people playing SS these days.  I'd say the numbers have gone down in the past few months.  The numbers of ASW ships are VASTLY lower than they have been in the past.  I'd like to see both of these changes become reversed.

 

q2:  Do you think that SS (regardless of tier) get xp that is reflective of the damage they do?

I've gotten 300-400k xp during events also...except I did it with fighters. I don't see a real reason to run dbw/tbw cv. I know the importance of a cv in a team match to provide sight and cover. The only thing a dbw/tbw can possibly accomplish in a team match is get a bunch of pissed off team mates. It's about xp from team wins vs team loses and I know fighter equipped cvs have a greater chance of a team win then one without.

But its ppls right to run ships however they like so i wont share anymore advise on this because i enjoy camping dbw/tbw cvs.

With the state of BB play these days it is a given that if a CV wants to win they must BW.

The BB's want vision but can't aim...you can kill scouts and scout for them and you will loose.

The only way to give your team the advantage is to Bomb.

With the way sub are now if they don't get 100k attack per game the player is likely a bit more brain dead than the next sub player.


So, to answer the question CV and SS exp are fine...as long as the player doesn't rely on teammates to get attack...you better get it yourself.

If u really think being a one man army is the only way for a win then I guess your right. But my experience tells me differant.

I think playing fighter CV is much more interesting than bombing. If you have seen me playing CV perhaps you know I usually exclusively target on enemy bombers. I've seen some bomber CV players with bad skills and sometimes I'm able to let them get 0 attack by the end of battle. It feels so good when you can completely destroy BW CV players' gaming experience, when they keep insisting that bomber-whore is "pro" and BW CV wins the game (oh! let them smash keyboards ! ). 

However when there are 2 BW CVs on enemy team, it becomes harder to intercept all bombers without a miss, especially when your team's fighter CV isn't interested in shooting bombers.

Oh, and I give NO vision when shooting bombers...

 

Actually I find playing fighter gives more experience than playing bombers. For those who find playing fighter gives low exp, 1. you are not shooting down enough planes; 2. you did not control the air and let your team lose. Try to get 20k+ AA credits in a winning game and see what exp you have.

Oh, Hell ! Every BB/CV today has nuke PHH + 2000 bulge...

Try to play submarine yourself and see in how many games you can get through enemy BB line.

I am going to broach the major parts of my argument individually so I don't write you all a book... starting with SS.

 

I would like to see diversity in the game, this would include more players in dd-cl-ca.  Most GB's start with full BB and CV numbers, I would also like to see full 5 vs 5 or even 10 vs 10 ss counts.  ASW would need to be different to accomodate this though.

 

Think of this:  in modern GB, the team with the dominant BB's basically always wins.  If there was 5 on 5 ss every game, there would be more complexity.   I would like to see a SS vs SS vs asw battle happening in depth every game along side the BB/cv battle. to increase the complexity of battles

 

To accomplish this,
(please comment on the following)

 

1) Any ship, be it SS or asw (not bb's, we want to encourage bb's to carry aa again),  which damages an SS with HH or torps or DC's, would get a MAJOR xp and credit bonus.  And I mean major.  We want to encourage ss vs ss and asw use.

 

2) NEW remods of DD's would be introduced around level 70-80 which could be used by any BO (kinda like the ecl's).  These would have -some- dual purpose aa/HE cannons to make them play in a dual purpose role.  They would also have several HH slots for asw work.  *** these dd could be played to break up the grind in SS, BB, or cv for that matter.  it would be FUN and it would make you good xp and credits whle also diversifying the game.

 

Thoughts?

This already does happen. It did a couple of times during the exp boost events and the rooms fill near 60 players. The battles are a blast and there are so many dynamics that it could go either way.

for Q2, yes, SS exp is atrocious. I can finish a match with 130k attack and I only recieve 20k experience with no boosts. On a BB, I just as much have to touch an enemy player and do 10k attack and win to get the same experience.

Had some fun playing SS, FW cv, and BB yesterday.

 

My best ss game I did 152k attack and got 19k xp using an IJN SS6.   For comparison I DB'd a team to death using a ijn CV getting 120k attack and got 38k xp.  I used a BB2  and got 175k attack with 44k xp.  Then, Fighterwhored, got 25k personal credits and my first loss... getting 8k xp, LOL.

This is the answer, high lvls CLs with dual purpose AA and HH with bonus for asw, and normalize the XP for SS, the game will rocks again :).

I would prefer it be a DD so that people could run with or without a sonarman.  Sonar for mega sonar range, or no sonarman for less range yet still spotting.

 

THink about a Z99  lvl 80 remodel.  Everything is identical except it has extra displacement and crew slots to fit high level crew.  4 aa slots are PLENTY on a z99 with KM aa, and 2 HH slots would be plenty if a lvl 80 HH launcher were introduced in game.

 

The lvl 80 hh launcher would be identical to a NHH launcher only it would have PHH reload time (phh's have more power per shot, thus they would still be better.)

 

Opinion?
