  • Simple questions about SS and CV

Hi all, I have a couple simple questions which could lead to bettering the game

About cv's:  At present i see many more bombers in NF than ever before.  This is likely due to several different things (more fun to bomb in some cases, can have a more obvious impact on the game, and you get MUCH more xp for bombing.)

q1: Do you think that a cv whom is running fighters only gets enough xp (feel free to talk about credit gain)?

moving on

I see fair numbers of people playing SS these days.  I'd say the numbers have gone down in the past few months.  The numbers of ASW ships are VASTLY lower than they have been in the past.  I'd like to see both of these changes become reversed.

q2:  Do you think that SS (regardless of tier) get xp that is reflective of the damage they do?

Cv xp is fine the way it is, if anything, it could be lowered 20-30% across the board.

Subs, xp needs major over hall, killing a ship with no sonar and no hh, should = 0 xp
Killing a DD with sonar & phh & depth charges, should yield the highest xp, the higher the chalange should yield more xp, killing a bb6 should give nothing, unless it has phh, and escorts should not count either, the AI is not chalangeing enough to be considerd a chalange. Maybee the escort should give a littel, but not neerly as much as a players dd or cl with asw.

Would you like to see BB's get double xp as well as what you've stated?  Or maybe just a "no torp, no cv" option for GB?  :)

Nation and classes in Navyfield were mostly balanced in my opinion. While most of the gameplay mechanics were fine, submarines and aircraft-carrier gameplay involves a little bit more of a "effort and reward" problem than the usual battleship mechanic.

See, when a player build his carrier class with only fighters onboard, the game immedately jumps into nothing more than a premium race among carriers. As we probably had known, Navyfield is a game not only depending on the skill and technique of a player in battle, but also the quality of a player's crew. Pilots were not an exception. To be quite honest with you, a new player who gets his first CV may more or less need to purchase some of the boost items from the store just to give his fighter a little bit of function, let alone putting up a fight against fighter from the other team. Hence fighter is never an efficient choice for any player unless they reached the highest level of 120 and had their skill capped. While survivability of bomber do scale with its level and the quality of the crew, most of the critical factors of a bomber - damage per shell, size of fuel tank, sight etc, were not affected by the condition of your crew, meaning a more forgiving and enjoyable method of gaming for beginners, and actually being able to contribute for the team without spending tons of money just for the entry.

Submarine do have a lower exp scale in compare to ships of any kinds. Before submarines were introduce into the game, the exp formula of Navyfield has been gunnery focused and were scripted to be less efficient for using torpedo in hope to restrict torpedo warfare only in lower-tier rooms. The formula maintains after the introduction of submarines.

i dunno if I agree with that.  I literally JUST finished a 0-120 cv grind.  Using local fighters at low lvls to kill scouts and bombers made me VERY effective as a cv in battle, I just couldn't shoot down large groups of ftrs or scout the enemy.  In all honesty, lvl 75-100 wasn't easy, but once the fighters get into the 90's they are very functional as long as you manage them well (in ftr vs ftr combat).

I've used some pretty crappy fighters to kill some pretty amazing fighters over the years...  Trick is to get into a group of talented players to teach you how to do it.

shackle

subs....

a powerful sonar on a high level dedicated DD ASW ship? ..you will be able to kill any sub virtually without risk...some might enjoy that prospect ...but you wouldnt get much exp for it as it stands.....

As mentioned  the key point is the lack of exp for killing subs.. its not worth it to asw  or really to try and duel kill  other subs...

mostly there are enough ships that can asw ..enough ships that can carry phhs... enough sonar to find subs.. (even enough subs)    but people have to develop the skills to use them properly and the incentive to do it is exp increase on sub kills..
