  • Suggest To TNF: Ship Strengthen boost for new players in GB

Since without an event, the population during non prime hours is not very high. And most likely only GB are able to run during these periods. Blitzberg for new NF joiners are not likely to be able to host at all. Sometimes I feel bad watching new DD and ff players getting 1 shot in GB rooms. I worry after a few times of these 1 shot experience, they will feel upset and leave Navyfield, resulting loss of new blood to NF.  I think it's time for SDE to do something to help new players stay and grow. I am thinking that giving an invisible ship strengthen boost to those non gold FF and DD(under level 65) who have under 300 games when they enter GB rooms will be a good idea to help them survive longer and have a more joyful gaming experience instead of keep getting 1 shotted.  What do you guys think?

Blitz doesn't teach jack on how to play the game.



Blitz is 1/3 of the reason a ever growing ratio of players have absolutely no clue how to play a capital ship once they get one. 

(Note thats not growth of number of players, just a change in proportions.)

There are many other roles to support in GB as you level up, and to be honest you need to learn them.

Yea agree with this, there are many roles they can bear in GB as dd ff cl. That's why I am talking about those with less than certain amount of battles. They don't have enough information about this game yet, and their crew aren't good enough for AA/ASW yet.   

I can understand where you are coming from, but restructuring xp for the lower tiers will unbalance the game.

The proiblem is lack of numbers during quiet times, not how the game is structured.

It's all well and good asking someone else to fix something, but what i would like to see is the players themselves taking an active role in making the game a better experience for newcomers aswell. The amount of bullying and players insulting each other is not how i remember this game when i first started playing right after beta.

I can understand to some degree friction between fleets and certain players, but bullying the new guys in battle rooms is just the lowest of the low.

How do we control our ragers and bullies? Not well enough if u ask me.

So lets also see the players also take an active role in making this game attractive, fun and enjoyable for new guys. However sadly i know most people are too lazy to bother.

Well said Piseog, we need more nice players who willing to spend time teaching new players instead of caring about their own grinding only.

yep blitz teahces a player nothing and wanting to stay in a blitz to farm new players with so clalled skill that some players have ganed over the years of always playing blitz is just low

adding a strengthen boost will only lead to less skill when the blitz players finaly make the gb's

Do you think that it would help to put back the full range of Training and Historical Missions with the possibility of scoring a few xp and credits for successfully completing them?

 As for helping new players before a GB starts, that is good but there is usually too little time for a talk.

I agree... I played blitz sometimes if i get bored and nothing change since 3 months ago when i played my US crew... Hobbit war map, all rushing not even learning to dodge, CA torping a little FF, player torping ang crippled ship (sometimes they sank not even releasing their torps), everybody whine when kita joined (why not learn to dance err dodge torp or change map)

Yeah, these posts (like the poor guy over on "suggestions" with his 200% boost for lvl 100 in GB...) always pop up right after an event has finished, with their fake "concern" for new players.

I'd just call this "event withdrawal symptoms"...

I spent 6 year as a FL, and i've teached alot, the problem is not exp is the effort of players.

I saw a new player getting bb6, after a month of event, then quit the game, the more faster they level the more tiny your window as teacher is.


how do you split "new player" from "new account"? becouse this is the main issue of TNF

Wellll... at least now that Hobbit War is not the default map for blitz anymore at least. That map was ridiculous.

I learnt a lot of the game playing Blitz.

Blitz is fine training for new players to the game, provided that they come into it with the right mindset.

Part of the problem are the people who will rush, sink and leave without watching the battle any further. Most of the time after I was sunk I would watch the battle unfold. I watched the higher level players. Saw what they did. Learned from them.

Same thing now I am playing in GB.

 

NavyFIELD is a game.  Games are about having fun. Being one shot block shotted is NOT fun. Blitz at least gives new players a decent chance at accomlishing something. GB is a bit too much for new people.

Sure there are roles for smaller ships in GBs but really.... people like to see an attack score. New players are not going to have the crews to get a decent score in their little ships, even if they run with anti-sub weaponry and similar things.
