yeah, you seems real KM player, Nice to meet you For adivce for new player (to KM), H39 always fall into lower speed when you level up. Everytime your Engineers gain ability to increase speed, their weight will slow down the ship and force you to change the ship power plant, which required even higher ability to cap OH speed. This will be repeating until 120 level. So far my list of "fightable" target for H39: USN BB5, RN BB4, IJN BB4, SB BB4, MN BB5 The ship you need to run away from in piroity: H44, L2, SY If you meet BB6, feel free to hurt them. They give good exp. If you can rush into the range using 30 degree of your 16" gun, BB6's attack will be reduced dramatically If you meet AW QV, H39 seems hard to do damage on her.

The H39 can successfully fight the alsace in a line battle, altough the lower hangtime makes it a bit harder than a monty to do so. Due to hangtime, again, it can be quite easy to stall a SY, and I suspect a Sovietsky in its current form. Remains to be seen once they fix the range. ALL BB4 can be beaten in a linefight. Quite easily too. H39 guns angle is 34 not 30. BB6 fighting should normally include AA to blind them and then get in range. H39 is a bit less adept at attacking those in GB environnement than would be a L1 or iowa tough. Only 2 ship that can fight off the H39 on a linefight in BB4-5 tiers and successfully beat it there are the L2 and H44. H44 especially explode you at your own game obviously. Luckily for you, not many good H44 players exist, and I never had any issue bringing most H44 down when I had the 39 myself.

he meant when the target comes to the range of 30degree but not saying the gun is 30degree yeah H39 is a very good weapon.. and i've tried to stall a MNBB6 for the whole game until south and mid totally failed back in the day when it only run 39knots :p

No AA is not a real KM setup especially for BB4+

AA is kind of iffy for me on the H39, if you've got a Kaiser crew (5 engies, 3 reps) you'd only be able to fit one rep aboard and probably lose a knot to the weight of the extra guns and the 40s really are the only AA guns to use on KM BB4+. If you have 4 engys and 4 reps instead, you'll be going even slower with AA than the other crew setup, so if you can sacrifice speed, use AA. But definitely use aa on bb5-6

Depends on the environment. For example in a FL game I would rather do 42 kn than have AA - as support ships are far better AA platforms and I can count on them doing their job. And let us be honest here, a 42 kn H39 is really good at fighting BB4s. Some might consider it to be... overpowered. In GB I would always bring AA.

agreed. even in BB1-4 rooms a 42knots H39 pwns (before the Stalin having that uber range with 16") thats why i always tended to have a 42knots H39 over AA set up >__< although my KMBB crew are super crappy

not really need to sacrifice speed with a decent crew, H39 with AA can easily run 40knots and personally i'd pefer 4eng/2rep +2AA on H39 and if you think KM40s are kinda too heavy , you can try out the 4.1" those guns worth a try and due to the unique Tslots layout of H39/44.. mixing KM40s with 4.1" is always a good solution :)

Seeing as unless you are running a skeleton crew, you cannot keep 42 knot even without AA for more than a few levels, thats supposing you speedcap everything with a lvl 89 crew, you are probably better off with AA guns on it.
