Range Test

So i joined a test mission in my H39 for some reason and there happened to be an iowa there. We decided to test our range against eachother. We lined up at the same line from the start and fired. Honestly, there was no noticable difference between the gun's range. Maybe I had a smidge more. Not only that but I was unable to one shot the test BB's at point blank unlike him. I realize it wasn't a formal range test, but still, there was no difference in range.
Now I know KM has its disadvantages, its not a perfect game but lets look at a few things
KM Disadvantages -Lowest Submergence -Low accuracy -Largest Hitboxes -Lowest Damage
KM Advantages -Range (?) -AA Guns (I love this) -Good OH time -Nice Reload Speed
Now those four disadvantages are huge, noticable, dragging disadvantages. Pairing Lowest durability with lowest damage alone should have been a bad idea, but then to throw in the massive hitbox and poor accuracy? thats just mean.
However, range is a huge advantage and I can see it being able to overcome the disadvantages, but Im just not noticing the range advantage. I mean I should atleast be able to hit an enemy ship of my tier without being hit back.
This being said, am I just not using my range effectivly? I have heard it is a techique that takes practice. I have seen some h44's ducking and weaving about doing well. I think I understand the slingshot technique, but if someone could explain it in depth that'd be great. Even so, other nations can use the slingshot technique right back at me too. I don't know. Is it me not maximizing my ships potential or is it the ship? I try to engage at max range, but it is so easy for enemy ships just to overheat towards me and fire away. And if there are two ships? Forget it, range has no effect at all.
WHAT CAN I DOO? Hahahaha

KM BB1s have practically BB2 range; best of it's tier. KM BB2s have practically BB3.5 range; best of it's tier. KM BB3s range is only pixels less than the L1, a BB4; again, best of it's tier. H39 out ranges all balanced BB4s by a significant amount; best of it's tier if you do not count the overpowered Stalingrad. H44 outranges all other BB5s. It's difficult to use the minor advantage, but the few players that can are the godly KM players. Kaiser out ranges all other BB6s.
Personally, I find that the BB5 tier decently balanced. While there are issues with the Sovietsky, and H44 damage consistency problem, the only major flaw is the L2's submergence. Once the L2 is nerfed, H44 damage and Sovietsky range fixed, the BB5 tier should be fine. (lv 110 guns are another issue)

Education is the biggest problem with this game. Hit and Run is the default way that all KM Players should learn to play, but at higher skill levels, KM is a deadly pushing tool. With enough skill, you can push back any ship in the game (except the SN ones) in a KM ship and receive no damage for your trouble. Against a Lion2, a GOOD H44 player should be able to push him back to the border without taking any damage. Note, the H44 may do very little damage himself, but the point of pushing is not always to gain attack. The problem is, there are no players good enough to do it to a good standard anymore..

There are a few, but as far as I know, only 1 or 2 are still active on Kaiser server, not sure about Nebby.

Actually, on this note I would like to see a range comparison between four items:
KM lvl 100 guns,
KM lvl 110 guns (are practically equal to the former from personal experience),
UK lvl 100 guns,
UK lvl 110 guns.
If I am not mistaken, UK gains a considerable amount of range with the lvl 110 guns which, along with the Lion 2's turn rate and other statistics is very dangerous for any H44.

But as per the lvl 110 guns, their common average is the same for UK and KM, practically nullifying the KM range advantage.
As an unrelated sidenote, I couldn't help but notice that KM has the largest range fluctuations.

Statistically on the gaussian curve, KM 100, outrange all bb5. And statistically the KM 100 outrange the KM 110 a lot.
