Range Test

So i joined a test mission in my H39 for some reason and there happened to be an iowa there. We decided to test our range against eachother. We lined up at the same line from the start and fired. Honestly, there was no noticable difference between the gun's range. Maybe I had a smidge more. Not only that but I was unable to one shot the test BB's at point blank unlike him. I realize it wasn't a formal range test, but still, there was no difference in range.
Now I know KM has its disadvantages, its not a perfect game but lets look at a few things
KM Disadvantages -Lowest Submergence -Low accuracy -Largest Hitboxes -Lowest Damage
KM Advantages -Range (?) -AA Guns (I love this) -Good OH time -Nice Reload Speed
Now those four disadvantages are huge, noticable, dragging disadvantages. Pairing Lowest durability with lowest damage alone should have been a bad idea, but then to throw in the massive hitbox and poor accuracy? thats just mean.
However, range is a huge advantage and I can see it being able to overcome the disadvantages, but Im just not noticing the range advantage. I mean I should atleast be able to hit an enemy ship of my tier without being hit back.
This being said, am I just not using my range effectivly? I have heard it is a techique that takes practice. I have seen some h44's ducking and weaving about doing well. I think I understand the slingshot technique, but if someone could explain it in depth that'd be great. Even so, other nations can use the slingshot technique right back at me too. I don't know. Is it me not maximizing my ships potential or is it the ship? I try to engage at max range, but it is so easy for enemy ships just to overheat towards me and fire away. And if there are two ships? Forget it, range has no effect at all.
WHAT CAN I DOO? Hahahaha

Read the video title.
As I just discovered, the site no longer features rotating ship displays. Isn't the L2 narrower than the H44? This would, in theory reduce some of the advantage too, but not much.
Edit: The only real question I think is worth discussing is KM lvl 100 vs UK 110.

Correct. The KM lvl 110 guns is bugged, the video was shown for that purpouse. However, some people instantly react to it and say KM has no range advantage. Wehn we all knew already the lvl 110 guns are horribly broken.

Thanks for the video, as you can see, the difference really is marginal. Add to that UK's better armor, better turning rates...

KM has overpowered AA, adding that on H44 makes it annoying, really annoying once killing your scout.

Yeah they have good AA, but as far as killing scouts goes IJN takes the cake there. And every nation has the ability to mount effective AA even UK. L2's can just as easily mount AA more than capable of one shotting scouts from a good range.
Saying AA balances out largest hitbox, lowest damage, low accuracy and lowest durablity doesn't work. KM AA is a major advantage yes, but its still just AA. AA isn't going to kill a battleship.
I am not disputing that KM might have a little bit extra range in the BB45 level. But that little bit is not large enough to balance KM's disadvantages in a GB12 environment.

Someone made an off topic statement, and so I reply back with an off topic which is completely unrelated to KM range. Never said or anything that makes up for the balance.
Now, if we were to keep derailing this main thread: L2 carrying decent AA? Yea, sure, great for killing bombers, pretty suicide and crippling yourself with AA, because good luck maintening 39 knots with those AA....
Also, H44 will never ever be balance for a GB environment.
Complaining how poor H44 performs in GB, is like complaining about SN being slow, when the nation disadvantage was meant to be slow.

Would you like to elaborate on that?

yes, h44 range isn't much more than other bb5s but i found it enough to hold the line. i would prefer reach OH cap speed easier, because only holding the frontline isn't getting you exp and the battle will be decided on the other side... if the other side are losing you will be retreating and going to be sunk fast negating you exp, if instead the other side is winning your opponents will be retreating and your teammates will eat them before you, neagting again exp to you... seems to me it's all about speed. i have 4 engs lvl 100-105 bve but i still a sitting duck @ 36knot :/ km engineerss are the best... well, the engines are not :|

H44 isn´t a bad ship, but is it real that the range advantage is not the same than other BB tiers. For AA is it great, but like other players said, a BB to kill planes?. No sense.
I played my H44 with triple turrets LVL82, more than 8 inches of deck and loose 3 knots less in OH, just for fun, and it works nice. Put LHE/AP/LHE/LHE x5 in one bind and 2 HHE in the another, and saw the surprise of other players when they dont sink me in 2 shots. As I said, just for FUN !!!
The problem is the lowest range and damage of 18" guns (they are a deception) and maybe, sometime in the future, will be solved.
