  • Who Wants To Do Something About This?

    02. 28. 2012 20:49

Rehor

Because two of the three mods I spoke to online had absolutely no interest in taking care of it (the other must have been AFK as he didn't reply).

And no, I'm not going to add any more details.  If you see what's going on here, you should know why this is a problem.

room do it outside of areas, which grant experience and credits (i.e. outside of 7, 8,
and 12).

Example 2: AA room where large ships such as Battleship or Carrier will let others
beat him up without fighting back. Moderators are exempt from this rule to
host “Free EXP Rooms."

Example 3: A room where you will fire upon enemy hips however you will not kill
them, instead you will hit them and allow them to repair and he will do the same so
you both get as much attack, experience, and credits as possible.

Example 4: Operation Convoy where one team will capture the crate repeatedly
while the other team is instructed to not fight back, in return they will get to do it
next game.

Any battle in an XP area, that is not the main area for the server, when said main XP
area is not full, will be considered ABing.

For example, Nebraska uses Area 12. Therefore, if rooms are open in Area 7 by a fleet,
when Area 12 is not full, that will be considered an AB battle.

In addition, this can be ban-able on sight by a Moderator or GM. A report will be made and
all players in that room (especially if they are in the same fleet), can be subject to
disciplinary actions.

Further clarification of AB = Arranged Battle: Essentially, is when both sides have agreed to certain limitations controlling the outcome of a battle. (When is carried out by a single fleet,
or group of friends). This type of battle is only allowed in NON-XP areas. Two, or
more, fleets collaborating to ensure a pre-arranged outcome of a HA is also
considered an arranged battle.

*ANY* Battle room outside of the main battle area of that server created when the battle area is *NOT* full is considered an AB room.

The biggest question to me, as I think HAS been pointed out to others, is not WHO was doing this but WHY, when MULTIPLE MODS were notified of this situation, did they act COUNTER to the Universal Server Rules that they are supposed to be upholding?

There have been questions/accusations in the past of incapable/incompetent mods who, once in their position, seem to do whatever they want and don't follow the rules. Should the players here be banned? Probably not. I would look at this like getting pulled over for speeding. Many times the cop will just give you a warning, a slap on the wrist if you will. But do it again and there is no leeway, you'll get that punishment. Apparently the mods were too busy at Dunkin Donuts tio even bother giving the warning.

Lol, what on earth are you on about? Jedi abusing what bug?

Get a clue before you make a stupid rant.

I wanted the names because I was curious. I have since been given the names and I am not surprised in the slightest. And from what I saw when I actually logged in today, it seems like it is AB'ing, although the room was closed at 7 people all in the same fleet, then opened for another a few minutes later...

Please can you actually read the rules.

Original reason it was made. To test whether or not the lag was preset on those areas, which it wasn't at first until more people came into the rooms. On top of that, there was not even enough people in those rooms at first to consider it a AB room, due to the fact that there was only 5 people in it. It was not until members of Black Sun's and Regalia came in that pushed it over the limit of 8 to gain exp, as well as a few players that where not in fleets.

It was not a AB room, so calm down people, no need to flame, or fleet bash, if that is the way that people want to take this thread, then it needs to be nuked.

That's an empty excuse, and you know it.

Everyone knows, (or can easily see), that the lag is affecting the ENTIRE GAME, not just specific areas. This is shown by areas with Harbors (lag in areas that are barely ever touched by rooms except during HAs), and the fact that there is no difference at all in exp, crew loss/gain, etc. between Nebby and Kaiser, yet Nebby uses Area 12 for their main battle area and Kaiser uses Area 7 for theirs. So trying to say "You were testing for lag" is an unacceptable attempt at an excuse to try to cover your rear-ends.

Simply put, according to the Universal Server Rules, ANY room hosted in that area when there is room in the other area is considered to be AB to TeamNF. The mods should have closed that room down, and either given a warning or a 15 minute ban for the host of those rooms last night.

At any time, you could have asked one of the hosts of the "Occupy Navyfield" rooms to close their room so you could open a regular battle room, did you think of that before you decided to jump to Area 7?

If you look at Rehor's screenshot, there was room in the original area too. So I agree, empty excuses.

At worse, if someone wants to AB do it in clan area ...

If you really need badly exp, just start being or be more useful in a GB room.

Angus, I respectfully request you just censor and delete this entire thread as an attack on players and forum users by making false accusations in the original post. He essentially has called them cheats, dishonest players and attacked their integrity.

The room was open to anyone and more than one fleet participated was a statement of fact in which you deleted. That the defense post stated mind your own business and keep your nose out of things is no worse than his accusation.

If you decide not to delete this entire thread, then you need to allow those accused to defend themselves, in which case, pointing out how often someone makes allegations against others, whether true or not, is fair game and no worse than the original attack. As it stands right now, you have left the accusation and silenced the accused.

Lastly, if the accuser feels slighted by the Mods about his "concern", then he should put in a support ticket to have the situation looked into rather than create drama by making accusations in a public forum. To do otherwise is simply trying to create attention for ones self at the expense of others. I think there is a term for that....but not sure.

Think about it....

You would not happen to be in the fleet that was running illegal rooms now would you Mr.Holiday?

Emotions tend to flare up when issues such as these come up and it is no surprise that there is some amount of flaming by different parties. This unfortunately leads to the FMs having to take action against the offensive parties.

With that said, what TNFs and the GMs do in game is somewhat different than what FMs do in the forum. Simply speaking:

GMs/TNFs - In game and forum rule enforcement
FMs - Forum rule enforcement ONLY

I do believe I read them? Unless this wasn't directed at me. Anyways, I can't speak for what happened on that server as I do not moderate on Nebraska.
