  • USN Battleship Speed Cap Listings

Continuing my work on engine-related stuff, I thought that I'd make a table for the
requirements needed to reach the speed caps on all USN BBs. I'm actually only able to
do
this now since Adalbert figured out how Engys stack, so remember to give him your
thanks
for this thread.

And in the event that this gets stickied (or if people reply past 10 posts, either or),
I'm going to put the bulk of the data down below in the next post(s).

Table has been updated.

While I was at it, I took the time to calculate the speed caps for 5 Engys. Note,
however, that it doesn't apply to the Alaska since that only has four support slots
(and is further pointless because the Alaska doesn't need any Engys to hit the
speed cap). Also note that running 5 Engys on the BB1s is not recommended either,
since those only have 5 support slots total, which means that you'll need to drop
your scout to run five Engys.

You guesstimate based on where it lies between the classes. From a cursory glance,
I would say that it would probably be roughly equal to Class C, but given that it has
less experts and vets, it would probably fall under C- despite the higher base. But
the nice thing is, once you apply a boost and some sailor items, it automatically
jumps up to Class A.

-e- Also, I found the mistake I made. I accidentally forgot to carry out the 70%
subtraction when I ran the Nevada's numbers, so it turns out that it only needs
30.4% to reach the overheat cap, whereas I wrote it down as needing 39.6%. The
Nevada's numbers are wrong, the Penn and Tenn are fine. I'll change it soon.

What class would a 100 recruit, 70 vet, +12 unboosted be?

Hmm, not sure. I don't think I made any mistakes when I crunched the numbers, but I can
check again this weekend.

Erm, why do the Pennsylvania (1930) and Tennessee (1941) appear to hit the OH cap 1 level
before the Nevada? The latter has a better base overheat...

LK, I found something.

Nebby hit the speed cap a little later than monty I think.

The thing is, 3 of my engies are enough to get 24/40 with monty and 25/42 with iowa, but
those same three can only acheive 23/38 with the nebby.
