Hm when I was first got my Alaska and with silver account I couldn't handle it.
Alaska is playable but for a new BB player the learning curve is huge since FF-CA you had shared exp.
The Alaska's biggest problem is that it is rather large. With good engineers it is not that bad to move around since it already hits the speed cap for the ship.
I suggest to wait 4-5 levels after you can get your Alaska then try it out. Because your gunners are low level, the spread of the shot and reload time, it can become quite unbearable to play.
My opinion is that if you can get the Pensacola, get that and grind in that for awhile and learn to AA.
* AA is an easy way to get experts and help level your AA gunners that you might need for your BB456 *
Then you can try to stick it out in the Alaska when your 60+ or get the Sevas and grind out 10 or so levels and try the Colorado.
Colorado will be your guide on how to really be a BB.
The Alaska teaches you the lessons you need to learn although the lessons are quite harsh and it is my own opinion that Colorado should be the BB to learn since you still learn the same lessons but the punishment you get for messing up is a tad less.
