ok since the patch playing the game for me on win 7 is about a joke....it plays for 30 min then crashes in lobby. Ok here is what I have done...

all exes for the game are in the dep list. visual themes are turned off and game is running with out compatibility...and it hangs and crashes.

Now I have tried ever compatiblility and it either will not load crashes on load or crashes on the splash load and never shows the sd enternet sign

so now my question is will there ever be proper support for windows 7 64bit or some sort of fix...or is there some kind of work around cause at this point Im not
wanting to spend more money....btw a wrap around feature to the forums would be nice

But setting affinity to one CPU core will cause unbearable stutter (Low FPS no matter what your spec are it seems) from planes and flak. To remove this stutter you need to set "Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable Desktop Composition" just like in V2CxBongRipz's screen shot.

I use the same settings as v2c but there still are some issues. I get a massive performance hit when hedgehogs and pompoms hit the water. There is also a memory leak caused by tabbing out (tab out a lot and watch the memory usage in task manager). This memory leak causes a lot of seemingly random lag that is pretty annoying. If you don't tab out you won't get any lag.

My specs in case you want to know.
OS: W7 64
CPU: C2Q9550
GPU: GTX 275
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333

And you know that setting the affinity to CPU0 stops all Room crashes HOW? And then why do single
core users still get the same crash?

kinda hard to set the affinty to 0 as when you try to do it via taskmanager it says this function can not be performed.....In theory your correct however you will gimp your process.

Ok so now here is what I have done.....Reinstalled. navyfield core program in the x86 program directory the updater had to go in the regular program directory as when you put it in the x86 the game wont load at all and throws a ton of errors.....Set the dep to navyfield.exe in the x86 folder. turned admin on for the launcer, diables themes and composition. Ran launcher...tried to play...crash, manually installed patch. ran. crash. ran again...success on 7th battle with out crash which is an improvement since last night, however history of this game tells me that the game is bi-polar when it comes to when it wants to crash.

Because I tested it with different settings. I have never gotten the infamous battle room freeze with that setting and I play A LOT.

The room crash I am referring to is the one where you need to try to move your ship in the battle room to test if you crashed. There may be other battle room crash types, but I have never had them. I only know that this works for the battle room freeze that many people get.

If you have a single core and are getting this type of crash, than you probably have a CPU with hyperthreading (This creates "virtual" cores). If you don't have a hyperthreading single core CPU and are getting the battle room freeze, than please post, BUT make sure it is the crash type I am referring to.

I have always able to tab out and set affinity. Make sure it is navyfield.exe and you have the proper administrative privileges.

OK I have the Launcher in the (X86) folder and no issues at all, and when you crash can you check for the
file navyfield.rpt and open in notepad and copy and paste the contents here

Navyfield on a 64 bit operating system...

Ok let me start by saying this worked for me, may not work for all but its worth putting up here........

First remove navyfield off your pc...
2. reinstall navyfield. When the screen showing your the directory path of where the program is gonna install chose the change option.
3. now open up your mycomputer and go to your c drive. look for program files (x86) this is a section meant for all 32 bit programs.
4. make a folder inside this directory normally right click and chose new and select a folder. Name it what ever you want....
5. Now go back to the navyfield installer and choose your new destination for the install....should look like C:\ program files(x86)/nf......
6. Now hit continue and let it install.
7 next you will notice it will ask you where to install the updater and this is important....Let it install where it wants...changing this will crash everytime.
8. once installed do not start.
9. right click the nf icon. set to admi and disable visual themes and composition. save.
10. open control pannel open system go to adavance options then performance and select dep. Add navyfield.exe to the dep list.then save.
11. start the game.
12. allow to update.
13. exit out...get and install the manuel 1323 patch..
14. start game...it will crash a few times but 2nd or 3rd time will load in.
15. this has worked for me hopefully it will help you as well.

Where is it crashing? During load? waiting for battle? middle of battle?
and do you have the file "navyfield.rpt" in your game folder if so open and copy paste it here

So how is it going, any improvement in the proper folder?

still crashing just not as often....and if this is the proper folder would it not be prudent to change the installer to look for this folder and or create sub folders in the folder as most people would not think of this.
