ok since the patch playing the game for me on win 7 is about a joke....it plays for 30 min then crashes in lobby. Ok here is what I have done...

all exes for the game are in the dep list. visual themes are turned off and game is running with out compatibility...and it hangs and crashes.

Now I have tried ever compatiblility and it either will not load crashes on load or crashes on the splash load and never shows the sd enternet sign

so now my question is will there ever be proper support for windows 7 64bit or some sort of fix...or is there some kind of work around cause at this point Im not
wanting to spend more money....btw a wrap around feature to the forums would be nice

tell me about it...I think sending them the .rpt just confused them....I posted a picture once of what the dev team of sdenternet was, but well seems it was considered racist...didnt know retarded korean kid would be racist but ehhh....

But yes there does seem to be more info and most is linked to main.dll and navyfield.exe most of it seems to be involving a series of attempts to access parts of memory that for some reason are not responding and registering as a fault.

now since I cant do a proper debugging on this game, I can only guess. Since its known there is a memory leak in this game I would say that crap lousy patches were not codded correctly and thus increased the memory leak to a state that it is no longer a leak but a gush.

While not disputing the memory leak issue, that does not explain the first game join a battle crash, and that is a very common situation. After that many can play without trouble.

well it does if you think about it...when you join a game your memory is being accessed in order to post the graphics of the ship as well as position...and with every person coming into the room or moving the ship the memory is being accessed more...and thus could cause the leak to worsen. Though your correct that most of the time it should only occure after a while playing, but since the game does not remove from the memory completely your really just creating a data garbabge pile for the game to get confused on....

alright now that i have a new laptop with win 7, i wanted to install NF onto it. I did, and tried playing it. the first time i ran it, I got to the loading screens then it seemed to get into a loop, with the loading thing at the bottom still spinning. I tried some compatibility tweaks as said in this thread but I cannot get it to run. Sometimes, it also will say that the program had an error and cannot load before I even get to the loading screens (after the navyfield launcher, the screen goes black and then goes back to the desktop with the error message)

any suggestions?

is it even worthwhile? the problem even sorted?

Win7 64 still doesn't work for me either. I've given this game almost a year to get fixed with Win7, but seeing this shit still going on I think my next break will be much much longer..

I have Windows 7 64bit and don't seem to have any problems. After playing with installshield though, it is possible to have/build an installer to install to the 32bit directory rather than the 64bit. Is this something that people really want?
