  • MD5 Hash - Check Game File Integrity

***CURRENT FOR NF v1.327***

The purpose of the following is just to determine which files are missing/corrupt; it helps in determining the cause of any problems.
This is NOT a fix.  It is a diagnostic tool!

The steps below are to perform an 'MD5 hash' check on your NF game files (specifically .data/.dll files & SPR/SOUND/MISSION/MAP folders).  
The MD5 check file is based off of my working NF client files.  The idea is to compare the 'hash' of my working files to the 'hash' of your (corrupt)
files, thus determining which file is different from mine.  Then you can try replacing that file.

1. Download md5summer and the checksum file and run the program.  
Be sure to install/extract to your NF Directory (C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)

2. You will be prompted to associate .md5 files with the program, select YES.
3.  Navigate to your NavyFIELD directory, select Verify Sums, select the MD5 checksum file (NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5).
4. The check will run and any files that do NOT match the hash check will show up as red (error). 

Note the path and file name of any errors and post a reply. 

To remove this program, simply navigate to your NF directory and delete
 -md5summer.exe
 -NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5

Please double check that list. "ITFM.spr" doesn't exist for me.

Also I thought of deleting these files & letting the luancher reinstall them ... but none of the above SPR files
exist in the 1.327 client .. ?


Please double check your list as well. ITEM.spr doesn't exist for me.

I am not TNF, nor am I an employee of SDE. I am just a player like you. I purely do this because:

1. It's a relatively simple fix (albeit sometimes tedious).
2. It's fun to tease TeamNF mk9000 about all these support tickets :P

Soooo, with that said. Don't get angry with me. Don't get frustrated with me. I'm trying to help you when I can/am able. Yep sry top file is SPR \ ITFFM.spr not " ITEM "

Same issue

ITFPDITM2.spr is corrupt the file dated 6/1/2011 which is the sovietsprite patch and the one dated 9/7/2011 which is the one from updater

To fix the issue we need the correct file that is not corrupt ITFPDITM2.spr


can you post a link to that file which works with the latest verison

Still Same here also.
No game access.
We need an updated and working version of either the game client (complete)
or a patch with the correct files and fixes.
Until this is done there will be a lot of people that cant play due to restricted access.

I now have to go onto our Fleet forums and post my inactivity ( which as fleet leader is a sad state of affairs).
Hopefully I can get back on before the next patch.

get this fixed soon please SDE.

-When prompted to replace any files, select YES.
-Navigate to C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\ENFUNS Updater\Downloaded\NAVYFIELDUS and delete the file: FDList.

The game now launches correctly, but I can't enter the servers because it says different version

Running MD5 sums 2 files have "Checksum did not match":

The MISSION file can be fixed with the patch . But the auto soviet patchafter running still showed that the spr files Main & SpecialItem files were still not conforming & checking in the file SRP the spr are installed apart from ITFPDITM2.spr & Thunmbs.db though none conform ''

SPR \ ITFFM.spr ............... was replaced but didnt conform
SPR \ ITFOPT.spr .............was replaced but didnt conform
SPR \ ITFPDITM2.spr .......was not replaced ........ still missing
SPR \ ITPNFS2.spr ..........was replaced but did not conform
SPR \ Thumbs.db ............was not replaced ........ still missing
Main.dll ...............................exists but dose not conform
SpecialItem.Data ..............exists but dose not conform

& why the .db file attachment after Thumbs if its an SPR file you would expect the sufix to be .spr ?

I was a noob and made an error when posting the download links for the updated NF File checker. Please redownload the files if you notice that the md5 checksum file is for NF v1.326 (OLD!) I apologize for this error. The URL links had been titled to the correct download... but were LINKED incorrectly. The links are now fixed.

Some food for thought:

Running MD5 Check (v1.326 vs v.1.327)
Only changes are in the following files:

Main.dll
SpecialItem.data
SPR\ ITFFM.spr
SPR\ ITFOPT.spr

Relatively small and simple patch since only 4 client files were changed in this patch. What I'm still honestly trying to figure out is why some clients get screwed up when there's a patch... and others do not (like mine). I personally think that when there's a patch, the files are updated correctly. However, when the updater does its own version of an MD5 check and detects something 'different'... it tries to replace them with faulty files. That's MY logic and my guess. I can't really be sure at this point.



And now the file download...

The following is a .rar file containing the most common files that people are having issues with. This is NOT self-extracting, so you will need to extract it to your desktop and copy/replace any files that you have problems with. Once you're done replacing the files, I'd suggest doing another MD5 check to ensure that all files comply.... and as always....

REMEMBER TO DELETE THE "FDLIST" FILE!!!

This is what I get after trying to do all the suggested help previously, always getting the IT2 error.

Got 3 errors

SPR\ITFFM.spr - Checksum did not match
