  • MD5 Hash - Check Game File Integrity

    07. 25. 2011 16:12

Phrozen
*Note: Be sure to try all other methods of fixing this issue first (see the stickies).*
***CURRENT FOR NF v1.327***

The purpose of the following is just to determine which files are missing/corrupt; it helps in determining the cause of any problems.
This is NOT a fix.  It is a diagnostic tool!

The steps below are to perform an 'MD5 hash' check on your NF game files (specifically .data/.dll files & SPR/SOUND/MISSION/MAP folders).
The MD5 check file is based off of my working NF client files.
The idea is to compare the 'hash' of my working files to the 'hash' of your (corrupt)
files, thus determining which file is different from mine.  Then you can try replacing that file.

1. Download md5summer and the checksum file and run the program.
Be sure to install/extract to your NF Directory (C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)

https://www.opennavyfield.com/smf/NavyFieldCheckv1327.exe

OR

OR

https://rapidshare.com/files/3016247784/NavyFieldCheckv1327.exe

(MD5 Hash: b5991b7b8d92bde5cfd44d7db94f0370  *NavyFieldCheckv1327.exe)

2. You will be prompted to associate .md5 files with the program, select YES.
3.  Navigate to your NavyFIELD directory, select Verify Sums, select the MD5 checksum file (NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5).
4. The check will run and any files that do NOT match the hash check will show up as red (error).

Note the path and file name of any errors and post a reply.

To remove this program, simply navigate to your NF directory and delete
 -md5summer.exe
 -NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5

The MISSION file can be fixed with the patch . But the auto soviet patchafter running still showed that the spr files Main & SpecialItem files were still not conforming & checking in the file SRP the spr are installed apart from ITFPDITM2.spr & Thunmbs.db though none conform ''

YYEEAAHH !!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKS TY very very much for your time Phrozen in working this out for us .... SDE should
employ you ... you do a better job than their Tech support .... the above fix works :)

Start clean d/l NF v 1.327 .... run mission patch ... install check sum v 1.327 & note corrupt files
d/l the rar file Phrozen has supplied ( all links are supplied here above ) & replace the corrupt files the game should now launch ok got me in & all thanks to Phrozen tyvm :)

SPR \ ITFFM.spr ............... was replaced
SPR \ ITFPDITM2.spr .......was replaced
SPR \ ITPNFS2.spr ..........was replaced
SPR \ Thumbs.db ............was replaced

I noticed on my 1st try on launcher it hung at screen waiting for the check to run & just hung & hung ... was my bad
If you also get this you need to go into your Navyfield file & delete the 2 MD5 checker files ... relaunch & the hang will be gone & it will read your files :)

I used to uninstall NF,, enfunsupdater,, and do a search and delete all associated files,. then download latest version and install, hmmm not working?- oh also run a reg cleaner.. cclean seems good., im running xp, and game seems more stable than it has for some time. Of course also make sure things like auto updaters are not running in the back ground,, google updater, avg, avast, seems everyone wants some bandwidth :) shut them down. you guys sound like you know better than me, but i have also cleared my events, in windows, then when nf crashes i can see why,. or at least the code mr.gates wants me to see.

Some food for thought:

Running MD5 Check (v1.326 vs v.1.327)
Only changes are in the following files:

Main.dll
SpecialItem.data
SPR\ ITFFM.spr
SPR\ ITFOPT.spr

Relatively small and simple patch since only 4 client files were changed in this patch. What I'm still honestly trying to figure out is why some clients get screwed up when there's a patch... and others do not (like mine). I personally think that when there's a patch, the files are updated correctly. However, when the updater does its own version of an MD5 check and detects something 'different'... it tries to replace them with faulty files. That's MY logic and my guess. I can't really be sure at this point.

And now the file download...

The following is a .rar file containing the most common files that people are having issues with. This is NOT self-extracting, so you will need to extract it to your desktop and copy/replace any files that you have problems with. Once you're done replacing the files, I'd suggest doing another MD5 check to ensure that all files comply.... and as always....

REMEMBER TO DELETE THE "FDLIST" FILE!!!

DOWNLOAD: https://rapidshare.com/files/2254075189/Main_NF_Files.rar

Files included:

ITFFM.spr
ITFOPT.spr
ITFPDITM2.spr
ITPNFS2.spr
Thumbs.db (this is a HIDDEN file, you must configure you folder settings so you can see this file)

Aircraft.data
Armor.data
Engine.data
FCS.data
ForceInfo.data
Frame.data
GunSet.data
Hmbpd.data
Location.data
NTable.data
Projectile.data
SpecialItem.data
Torpedo.data
TpLauncher.data
YF.data
Main.dll

Let me know how it goes

jigoyski
@ DooDoo and HellFire,

Try doing these steps (taken from all the other suggestions by Phrozen, this is what I did to make NF running again after trying to figure out how for hours)

I've had your problems but Phrozen's suggestions did the trick.

Try doing this.

You should by now have the most recent client which is the version 1.327

First
1.- Uninstall NF GAME via Control Panel
2.- Go to C/ProgramFiles and DELETE the SD EnterNET Folder.
3.- Click on start / search / Write SD EnterNET, Navyfield, Navy Field, etc. And DELETE all your PC found of this.

REBOOT PC - REQUIRED

4. Click on Start and select “Run” (located immediately right once you click Start)
5. Type in “regedit” and press enter
6. The registry editor opens
7. Expand the branch titled “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
8. Expand the branch titled “SOFTWARE” and DELETE any SDEnterNet or NavyField folders
or you can do a search for "SDEnternet" and or "NavyField" one option should work depending on O/S
9. Close the registry editor

REBOOT PC - REQUIRED

THEN

install the v 1.327 game.

THEN

The purpose of the following is just to determine which files are missing/corrupt; it helps in determining the cause of any problems.

Usually you'd get 3 or 4 files that are corrupted.

THEN

NTable.data
Projectile.data
SpecialItem.data
Torpedo.data
TpLauncher.data
YF.data
Main.dll

THEN AFTER DELETING THE FDLIST File, you'd get a message that you are attempting to hack, close it then load the game again, it will load but when you try to enter the data file corrupted error will appear.

THEN...

1. Close NF
2. Download the critical .data & mission files from:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1HW7M59Z (.rar file, extract to C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)

OR

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9CT88IEZ (.exe file, self-extracting)

Alternate Mirrors:

https://rapidshare.com/files/1523996110/NavyFieldD_M1327.exe (.exe)

https://rapidshare.com/files/4074682110/NavyFieldD_Mv1327_Files.rar (.rar)

**Note: When prompted to replace any files, select YES**

3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\ENFUNS Updater\Downloaded\NAVYFIELDUS and delete the file: FDList.
4. Run NF (nothing should download).... PLAY!

There are 2 download links for you to choose from. Are you telling me that neither work for you?

Again, I am NOT an SDE employee nor am I part of TNF. I don't do developer stuff, I don't do programming. I don't currently have the tools or knowledge to make an automated process for you (or anyone else) that'll check the files AND replace them automatically. The instructions are laid out here. If you are confused about a particular step, feel free to ask for clarification.

Hey,
I have tried the initial fix for data corrupt file and then have done your fix and still are having problems getting the game to even load. It starts loading then crashes to the desktop after like 5 secs with no errors. After running the MD5 check and downloaded your files, I still can't find the SPR/Thumbs.db that the MD5 check says is errored. It says it doesn't exist and your file list does not have it in it but it is talked about in the posts here with no fix that I saw. Please help me. TY.
