  • MD5 Hash - Check Game File Integrity

***CURRENT FOR NF v1.327***

The purpose of the following is just to determine which files are missing/corrupt; it helps in determining the cause of any problems.
This is NOT a fix.  It is a diagnostic tool!

The steps below are to perform an 'MD5 hash' check on your NF game files (specifically .data/.dll files & SPR/SOUND/MISSION/MAP folders).  
The MD5 check file is based off of my working NF client files.  The idea is to compare the 'hash' of my working files to the 'hash' of your (corrupt)
files, thus determining which file is different from mine.  Then you can try replacing that file.

1. Download md5summer and the checksum file and run the program.  
Be sure to install/extract to your NF Directory (C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)

2. You will be prompted to associate .md5 files with the program, select YES.
3.  Navigate to your NavyFIELD directory, select Verify Sums, select the MD5 checksum file (NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5).
4. The check will run and any files that do NOT match the hash check will show up as red (error). 

Note the path and file name of any errors and post a reply. 

To remove this program, simply navigate to your NF directory and delete
 -md5summer.exe
 -NavyFIELDCheckv1327.md5

It starts loading then crashes to the desktop after like 5 secs with no errors. After running the MD5 check and downloaded your files, I still can't find the SPR/Thumbs.db that the MD5 check says is errored. It says it doesn't exist and your file list does not have it in it but it is talked about in the posts here with no fix that I saw. Please help me. TY.

Thanks for the response but i managed to get it working. I uninstalled and re-installed, manual patch, then ran your MD5 check, copied the SPR/ITFFM.SPR file over, ignored the SPR/THUMD.DB file error and launched. Works just fine. Thanks for the help though. The rest of the thread is great, just had to figure it out from there. Good Job.

OK. So I think I know what my problem was. I had NF working then re-installed NF fixer 3.21A and the problem came back. Uninstalled NF fixer and game works. Might be something that people should look into as well.

Is there a version that I can get that is working with the latest patch?

Kinda confused at your statement. You had NF working, but installed a fix onto your working client? Clarify please.

Not a fix per say. NF fixer allows you to shoot and move your guns at the same time without letting off the space bar (very useful for AAing) and lets you kill the NF task at any time. Before the patch I was able to use it just fine. But after the patch, it royally screwed it up. If I have NF running and in game I can install NF fixer and use it but when I close the game and launch it again with NF fixer installed, it crashes to desktop. I have since removed it and have NF working but can't AA worth a crap anymore. So that is why I asked if there was another version i could try.

I didn't make "NF Fixer" so I can't really say anything regarding it. What I can say is that the fixes/repairs I have posted about only replace files that are corrupt/missing and you are then left with a working, default set of files. After which you may install/add/modify whatever files it is you use (whether they be custom sprites or NF Fixer).

That's a lot of files that seem to be missing (including some that I didn't include in this MD5 check). Please make sure you ran the test correctly and copied the correct files. You should get results in this window:

Instead of copying the file paths manually, you make click SAVE and save the file as a text document to your desktop. Remember, we are only concerned with files that show up with errors.

SPR\Thumbs.db ERROR: D:\Games\NavyField\SPR\Thumbs.db does not exists.


"Navigate to C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\ENFUNS Updater\Downloaded\NAVYFIELDUS and delete the file: FDList."
I don't have the FDList on my computer. IN fact the Downloaded folder doesn't exist, only ENFUNS Updater
