TeamNF_MK2

Hey guys,

We know that many players still feel that there are a number of game related bugs that require attention before anything else. In this respect, our team is in agreement and would like to offer a bit of incentive for your help in fixing any bugs that may still exist.

Bug squashing can be a difficult task as we can only fully resolve an issue if sufficient data is received in order to fully reproduce the error in question. We believe that we have made strides in the past regarding the bug reports that were recieved, and we now wish to offer a 200 Olive incentive for new detailed bug reports.

The rules are simple:

1) If you have a new game-related bug to report, simply create a clear and detailed method to help us reproduce the bug along with any screenshots if necessary. Also, please be sure to indicate how the bug should be fixed (i.e. If game hangs when X happens, game should not hang when X happens).

2) Send the report to the "Bug Report" support ticket section. You may title it "Bug Bounty: (specific bug here)" for easier viewing.

3) If your report helps our team to resolve a new bug, you will be awarded 200 Olives once the bug has been fixed.

We have team members who will be dedicated to going through these reports and working on solutions to any new bugs that are reports. Please keep in mind that these bugs must be game specific, and not something that may be caused by outside conflict (i.e. ALT+TAB or Window keying out of the game leading to issues)

We hope to show that we take your bug reports very seriously and that this incentive may provide some thoroughly detailed reports. We will look forward to them.

Thank you,

-Randy

You need to change your sound setting back to original instead of expanded, that is what is causing your problem.

this makes me laugh, considering only GM works on it, and they or he dont work weekends.

talk is cheap.

I didn't want your olives anyways.

"Known bugs" don't count... Bwahahaha.

Not even when you THOUGHT you fixed them.

I have a bug report. It's in the mods really. It's so bad, you can troll a mod and he says and does nothing about it. You pick on us for swearing. And yet, nothing is done about trolling. I mean, I'll take and ef you over a trolling comment any day.

Okay,

I haven't read everything here, I mean 56 post and prob 80% is not about the bugs.

Bug1:
You guys implented a system to kick you from server when you are inactive more then 1 hour. Well this fails if you are running NF on win7 as admin. You are still there after 1 hour. However... you will crash at the end of the first game you play when you get back (doesn't matter if you died or not). You just have to stay till the end to trigger this. It never gives the screen "you won the battle" or "you lost the battle." Adding to this is the fact if it was suppose to be your first win of the day you don't get the XP anyway but you also won't get the double XP with the next win (assuming this is your first win that counts).

Solution? Lol remove the crap or make it work as intended. Who knows... you should be closing the afk trade rooms during a HA then. It doesn't help to log out, you have to restart the game to avoid this certain crash.

Bug2:
If you launch planes close to a border the get shot down, we all know this. But if more then 8 planes get shot down at take off you crash. Also noticed you can make people crash bu dragging your T5 scout to a border with 8 or more ftrs on your tail.

Solution? No idea, seems difficult to fix.

If they did that.

I'd have the memory issues fixed within a week....

I'd have the losing OH when the display says you are not OHing bug fixed within 10 minutes.

We'd have better OH managment controls within an hour.

The gunfire crash might be fixable within 24 hours.

I'd solved or atleast identified at least 5 crash sources within 24 hours.

Atleast 2 known security loop-holes could be closed within 5 minutes.

A more consistant updater can be made.

Sprite Engine: BMP to PNG update could be made in a matter of 1 or 2 months.

Heck I have all the updated files to create PNG sprites already...

Let alone all the performance problems with the server client that could be fixed to reducing desyncing and lagging.

(Note timeframes are based on after reviewing the entire documentation at least once before diving into the actual source code.)

The list goes on an on, what I alone, let alone a group of us with programming knowledge, could achieve in a matter of days after such a thing occuring.

A group of 10 of us, seriously trying, could fix 2/3 of the major bugs in the game, easily within a week.

Of course without documentation, I'd multiple each of those timeframes by about 5-20 days based on how much we'd have to search for things. We know this code is probably a horrid mess.

Oh do I get 200 olives for that possible memory fix I sent the other day? The one that could quite possibly half crashing of the non-networking based issues with the game?
