Ok bore, please listen. That is a well known, and often used "scam" virus. It pops
up and says you are infected, go to "x" site and use "our" anti blah blah blah to
clean your system. It is malicious, and destructive. Once it pops up on your screen,
the only way to keep it from getting in is DO NOT CLICK ANY PART OF IT. Not yes, no,
or the X at the top. Immediatly either hold alt and hit f-4, or go to start and shut
down. Either of these things will keep the virus from getting on your computer.
Now for the bad news. You activated it. You did a restore to an earlier date, and
now it seems gone. It's not. It has a activation in which after you turn on your
computer "x" amount of times, it re-activates. Depending on which version of the
virus you got, depends on how many times it takes to re-activate itself. Some are
30, some are 100, etc. Point is, it is NOT gone, and it will be back. Your ONLY option
at this point is to do a destructive recovery. Depending on your computer depends
on which way you have to do it. I think it is f-11. You start your computer, and the
second the screen starts to appear, spam f-11 key. (it may be f-10, can't remember.)
This will open up the recovery options. Do NOT do a restore. Use advanced options,
and follow the instructions for a destructive recovery. This will set your computer
back to brand new, factort settings. Just like it came out of the box. Do NOT try to
save stuff to a flash drive or disc to re-load them. If you do, you may be putting the
virus right back on. (it imbeds itself in MANY programs)
Hope this helps, as the advice comes from my computer professor at college.

Congrats on reformatting a drive to a day before, must've figured out how to build a
time machine or thrown the dictionary out the window.

Just to let you know, restore won't delete the virus/malware/spyware, not that I've
ever used system restore ever. But I'm just gonna say it with 100% certainty
anyways. Also, system restore's a waste of space.

hit control+F11 as your computer starts to boot up and set your computer back to a
date or you can bring you computer back to factory settings...

Might be worth giving Clamwin antivirus a go. Its slow but thorough and free.

www.clamwin.com

Or maybe Microsoft security essentials, also free.
