  • MN Balance Project and procedures

Now that the SN has been introduced testing can move on to look at the MN balance and
whether anything needs adjusting in there. We have had this nation for a year and some
minor tweaks have been done; however, starting next Friday (25th March 2011) there is
an
opportunity to test some different settings and to propose a change for the main servers
if required. The test period will run for approximately a month to 6 weeks.

Sailor information and accounts will be reset each Thursday or Friday as appropriate.
Normal testing rules to apply.

So, please start a discussion here on what changes you would like to see tested for the
MN
and we can start building the first test patch for next week.

There has been some comments on the way SN was discussed and implemented.

Therefore, we will be doing things a bit differently with the MN balance.

First of all, this will be a project where we will tweak MN balance. We will not create a
total new balance.

Also there will be a lot more discussion before any changes are implemented.

I will be making seperate topics for the seperate ships to prevent to much confusion.

We received a number of proposals from different sources. I will post those ideas in those
topics also for discussion.

Bear in mind IJN DB2 damage is 2947, MN should be slightly less, but not much.

So balancing SN properly will be ignored for a year?
$DE wants to make sure everyone migrates to SN so then they can sell lots more
elites/boosts/experts?

SiriusA, That right there 100% completely takes every reason to play MN, no more
fuel on my mn db than that usn noob? no more damage on their db? WHAT? The bad-
ass DB is the one and ONLY good reason to play mn cv, so if you do this, you can kiss
the sight of a single mn cv goodbye.

Here is my personal balance thought (Keeping in mind the MN has the best Dbs
PERIOD

MN CV Changes:

Bomber Damage.

TB1: 6378 -> 5315
TB2: 9566 -> 7972
DB1: 2880 -> 2504 (This is fine Sirius, good for bliz)
DB2: 3168 -> 2834

Bomber Gas.

TB1: 299 > 150
TB2: 273 > 160
DB1: 259 > 157
DB2: 249 > 170

I do agree that the PCV needs to launch only 11 planes, but the Liberte needs to
keep its plane space, if it is a FP whore, it needs its fps strength in numbers, if it is a
bw, it needs that lil extra to hold it's large DBs

Are we starting with NFEU's changes or are we starting ground up with what we have
right now?

What are MN's pros and cons?
We have 4 things from SDE, and we may be changing those; but NF balance need to
take into account many more things than just
+ Sufficient space for aircrafts
+ Good shell damage
- Limited gun range
- Low shell space

I think these are probably more reasonable

Bomber Damage.

TB1: 6378 -> 5350
TB2: 9566 -> 8200
DB1: 2880 -> 2600
DB2: 3168 -> 2900

SN DB2 should be around 3000

Joffre plane space should be left as it is, since MN don't have a CV3.

Other than that, SiriusA's values look good for CVs. The aim is to balance MN CVs not to
make them the worst CV nation.

Nerfing my brand new bomber whore makes me wana cry. :'(

Gratza, I think they are all open for changes.

I would like to look at the Pluton, all CA's, and the BB2's, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Pluton for a possible buff.
+Ammo and maybe speed nerf for the CA's. Maybe range buff on the 8 inch guns.
Lyon/Normandie changes? Increase speed, decrease range? +Ammo
Paris/Lorraine crew slot nerf
Strasbourg buff. +Ammo
Richy buff. +Ammo
Alsace +ammo
PCA NERF. Take away Paris guns. Check speed with all sets of guns.
Charlemagne. Slight range buff if possible.

And an AA range nerf, reload buff. Similar to the changes made to the IJN 4.7s.

Liberte Planespace 14280 > 14000
