  • Borderhumping? Yes or No?

I'm actually not sure with this one, so I'm leaving you guys to answer this. I only need a YES or a NO though.

Are you borderhumping planes when your planes are approx. 1 inch away from the border? YES or NO?

A lot of people seem to get border HUGGING mixed up with border HUMPING, and misuse the terms to confuse players. So why don't we change the terms a bit to make better literal sense out of it?

Use Border Hugging the way it already is, where the planes are near the border but not going "through it".

AND

Use Border Penetrating instead of Humping since the definition of penetrating is "Able to make a way through or into something."

Just a thought...

Border humping = No planes visible

Border Hugging = Visible Planes....A military tactic used for centuries, more commonly known at "Flanking".

To answer your question. NO

This is what happens when you play something other than a sub. You notice things.

A military tactic to fly your planes near the edge of the map? You know they proved the earth isn't flat don't you? Boarder humping/hugging are both exploiting the game mechanics just 1 of them is at least a little more tolerable than the other. Just learn to fly your planes through the huge gaps on the map, if you watch the better BW players this is what they do, or just team up with a FW on your team and get them to cover your bombers.

There is nothing wrong with putting planes NEAR the border... If someone puts bombers up to the north border, moves them along with them completely visible (at least 1" in) then I have no problems with that. The biggest issue with border humpers is that it wasn't seen as a problem in the GNGWC and other competitions because you can't really deal with it.

In one game, we lost a SY south to 20 DBers from a Chinese Fleet, in another we lost an H44 north due to 30 DBers, in both cases they launched the bombers, ran them directly north or south to the border and then just moved them along completely out of sight. When you don't realise them until they come off the border it is too late...

While all the fighter whores are checking borders for incoming bombers, I put mine through the middle! The most dangerous and obvious places are the safest :D
