TeamNF_MK2

Hey guys,

I have a bit of unfortunate news to report.

It seems that our team has decided to place the Premium Trade system on an extended hiatus in order to work all the kinks out. If you've used the system then you are probably already aware  that  the speed at which trades are processed could use some improvements. This is an unfortunate aspect of having to rely on  a completly manual method. This has been an additional workload on our GMs, and while we've tried  to complete all pending trades as quickly as possible, it has been difficult to fully keep up with all the requests.

During the system's downtime we will not only work on finding a solution to the delays, but will be making additional tweaks and improvements. The Premium Trade system is scheduled to be disabled on Thursday, February 23rd and will be back online after we have been able to make necessary improvements.

We will accept listings until 00:00 PST on February 23rd. All listings posted until that date will be allowed to run their course.

I know this is a pain for you guys that have shown quite a bit of support for the system. I bet its a pain for our company as well since it brings in extra revenue, but I hope you can agree that its a necessary action since the improvements will provide a much better end-user experience as well as helping to lessen our GM's workloads so they may focus on additional tasks.

I'll keep checking in on the progress of the fixes and keep you guys up to date with details on when to expect the system's return.

what do you mean by more comfortable. its annoying as hell. I also think SDE should be charging more for listing your sailor, this would prevent people listing for rediculous amounts.

I got a question for SDE. What happens when the game ends and your account has like 5000 olives on it, You bought these with your own money are you not entilted to your money back? whats the legal terms surronding this issue. thanks.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll refund your money.

sounds good.. maybe some sailors will pop up on the over priced trade board then lol..

But as a suggestion to working out tweeks and such.
There should be a CANCEL option..

As an example of why: When I first messed around on the olive trade board, I accedently bought a sailor due to the lack of experiance, and the lack of a guide. I did not want the sailor, and sought a way of canceling it.
I attempted to put 50 sailors out so the GMS couldnt place the sailor and would cancel the trade, but they placed it anyways and drove it to 51 sailors in wait. So I was stuck with a sailor I didn't want... Now I sold it back on the board for a similar price to what I got it for, But there should be a way to cancel so that doesnt happen.
------------------------------------------

If the system where to be made into an automatic movement, there should be a window of time to cancel the trade. Now if the trade where to be canceled, the offer should go back to normal. The seller's offer should not be canceled just because the player buying it canceled the trade.

This would be an example of what would happen if the buyer canceled the trade.(in stemps listed with #):
1: Some one chooses to buy something. 2: The confermation notice is sent to both players. 3: the buyer cancels the trade. 4: A message is sent to both conferming a cancel. 5: The seller's trade should then be moved from pending status back to selling status.
-----------------------------------------

Also, I would suggest actually putting a guide about how to use the olive trade board (as the first topic on the olive board), and what happens when you make a trade. This should also explain the cancelations, what the total's mean, what happens if it expires, how the trade process works, and so on...
------------------------------------------
I would also suggest lowering the minumum sell price. Because if you have an elite level 12 classed into a nation, you have to bundle it with more than one sailor, because the 1 elite is not worth 100 olives. It's in-fact 80 olives in the store. So the minumum should be about 30 olives or so. Or at the vary least, the minumum should be about 50 olives.

I hope these tree suggestions of mine are actually thought about, and applied during the re-working of the premium trade system :)

Furthermore, I made a suggestion a while ago for a few changes; Such as being able to search via nation/sailor type and level. And having the name of who bought the sailor on completed sales.

Also, it may be worth having some sort of premium trade/olive log, so you can trace any possible crazy olive inflation; There are an awful lot of low level accounts with lots of olives, credits and high level sailors...

I fully agree with this. I'd love to be able to see what people sold sailors of similar levels/stats (ect) for.

Also, having a trade/olive log would help players see the adverage amount of olives other players are selling similar sailors for, and help them price thier own sailors aswell. I believe if that was the case, the inflation would die down a bit.
The trade board in game somewhat has this option if there are enough sailors, but not fully. Thats why sailors on the trade board are still generally over-charged. This is also the reason why the sailors on the olive board are generally over-charged. (Because there is no referance list, and people throw out crazy numbers to see what they can get... since its only 1 olive to post it)

But @ shorty:
SDE dooesnt need to charge more for posting. Thats not the reason for the over-charging. The reason for that is the lack of comparison sailors/ crews, and the lack of competition. As I stated, the trade board sometimes has that competition and good prices, but thats only if there are alot of sailors posted.

you already can, punch in the nation, and select sold then type in "gunners" in the subject box.

Jorel
The date has come and gone, and from the OP the way I understand it is that you could post a new trade offer before last night's deadline, however you guys were going to allow them to "run their course".

Doesn't run their course mean that we could still purchase them?

If not, then you should have been more clear, and if that is what you meant then when is the maintenance going to be over so we can purchase the trades that have to "Run their course"?

I Got a Bit confused about 00:00 23rd feb thinking we had that extra day.
Just wish NF had said the time was gunna be 23:59 22nd feb as i am now a day late.
Lol.. the amount of times i double checked it too. Suppose I will havee to waste the sailors i planned to sell on selling them for credits, as I don't believe that Prem Trade will be back. No point clogging up my HQ with those 6 EBVE UK engies. Bugger.
I found out Jorel, You can still purchase from prem trade, and view it through Forum "trade and Barter"
I had to ask the Question as the only way i new to get in it was off the homepage picture which is now gone. I doubt people will go there if they didn't know, so may as well cann it now.
