Hey guys,

I have a bit of unfortunate news to report.

It seems that our team has decided to place the Premium Trade system on an extended hiatus in order to work all the kinks out. If you've used the system then you are probably already aware  that  the speed at which trades are processed could use some improvements. This is an unfortunate aspect of having to rely on  a completly manual method. This has been an additional workload on our GMs, and while we've tried  to complete all pending trades as quickly as possible, it has been difficult to fully keep up with all the requests.

During the system's downtime we will not only work on finding a solution to the delays, but will be making additional tweaks and improvements. The Premium Trade system is scheduled to be disabled on Thursday, February 23rd and will be back online after we have been able to make necessary improvements.

We will accept listings until 00:00 PST on February 23rd. All listings posted until that date will be allowed to run their course.

I know this is a pain for you guys that have shown quite a bit of support for the system. I bet its a pain for our company as well since it brings in extra revenue, but I hope you can agree that its a necessary action since the improvements will provide a much better end-user experience as well as helping to lessen our GM's workloads so they may focus on additional tasks.

I'll keep checking in on the progress of the fixes and keep you guys up to date with details on when to expect the system's return.

-MK2

I hope you are going to improve the security as well. It seems inconsistent that an in-game trade requires a second password on both ends to enable a trade, while the premium trade system does not require your second password or an olive key.

I hope the improved premium system will include added security. Currently, an account is very vulnerable as a hacker can sell your harbour sailors with just your first password.

Hi so for those of us that were going to use the trade systeme to sell sailors for olives and then buy items from the nf store to allow us to recive our free ECV are now up the greak with out a paddle so to say :).
we now need to spend actual money to buy 1000 olives and then spend on items uhm seems rather suspicous so close to the event starting but ha it might be me lol.

is their any chance it will be fixed at least befor the end of the event?

but it is a good idea to speed up the trade systeme and let's hope it is back soon i need olives lol

Ok Olive issue aside, in order to make the process of trading sailors "automatic" is to give each sailor (on both servers) a unique identifying number that everyone can see. When you list the sailors in the premium trade system you put their unique number in a field. When you pay the required olives the sailors with the corresponding ID# would be automatically removed from seller account and placed in your account. This should be a incredibly simple way of keeping the premium trade system going "as is" and without any major modifications. Then again I do not know your systems...Giving sailors a unique identifying number can also be incredibly useful for so many other things as well.

Another option is to include the olives IN the game, in the already functional trade system. So, you can buy (and post) a sailor in the traditional manner, and put the price in credits, points and/or olives

and how would anyone get your second password... secure your computer, and use a normal pin, just like your bank card.

idiots loose accouts and sailors, thats all.
