  • 2017 Navyfield open for suggestions~!

    12. 25. 2016 20:43

Merry Christmas everyone!

At this great season, it's time to plan for the next year. TeamNF is now open for constructive suggestions that will help Navyfield to provide us fun for another 10 years. Our developers are very busy, as you know Navyfield mobile is coming out soon, so we have priorities. But we will treasure all your ideas, especially ideas in promoting Navyfield!

A promotion campaign will be held soon, we are still drafting more details about funding and contents.  If you are able to help in any ways(ie Graphic design, video, funding, game promotion, magazine etc) You are more than welcome to join and help!  Leave your opinions below or reach me at  [email protected]    ^_^  (My email no longer accept unban/restore request for certain reasons, please send ticket with new account if you can't access your original one)

For long term NF supporters, if you encounter problem in accessing your account or you want to justify a previous ban, please send a ticket and we will review case by case.

Vinnson

This will help but what he said will  not be listened to.

The origional people that wrote the game are not around and the new owners wont find them and pay them to help.

Think about it. They wont even announce an event til the day of or send out emails to advertise there is going to be an Event this weekend. How can you expect them to do the right thing?

I do not know how you can buy or invest in something and run it so poorly. Can anyone tell this game is under new GM?

This game will always be buggy.

The more I think about it the more I think others are correct posting here that this is just the usual crap asking for help and nothing changes. I am an American and certainly do not understand any Navyfield GM in the past 7 years or Korean mentality in running a game.

Some general comments and observations.

The game is over 10 yrs old.

You need to invest $$$$ gaining some insight into the game engine code which was lost over 9 years ago. Most of us long term players all know what happened.. its amazing you didn't go fix it.

Without the game code there is no way forward to fix the common in game bugs.

Just tweeking with the sql server code and releasing new mechanics outside the core game in refered alt scripting code engine will not fix the issues when it is well known that the core game code is the bug source, this has been well know for years to the ONF team, SDE and TNF. Wake up and admit that then invest in fixing it.

Also the adoption of professional helpdesk ticket system with limits to moderators powers and ...

Your customers, those who pay you, are the player base that you constantly ignore. who have now taken ther gaming $$$ elsewhere.

Fix the code/multiplayer/mod/ticket system and you have a viable stable platform with users that want to use it and how will pay $$$ for it.

The alt is to sell the entire operation it to someone how cares about the game and has a customer service ability for the player base.

Finally how about investing in a tier one hosting company ...?

Have you fixed the KR hosting IP address and BGP issues with KR routing to US hosting Node issue yet? hummm lets see that was 8yrs 3 months ago...

IP banning because of the Silly IP rules. They must be removed. My sons do not play anymore because of this. You cannot go to a friends house and play/show them the game. I am not aware of any other game that does this. This is the second reason why the game is dead.

The HQ just HAS to work........  How many players stopped playing because they cannot get guys out of HQ ?

Make some other Sailor types tradable. Lev 90 neuts. 115 support guys. Super Elites etc etc. I can understand Santas, Xsailors, and Nation sailors not being tradable.

The 70 something ship harbor limit cap needs to be upped to say 90-100?

ADVERTISE the game AND EVENTS !!!!!!! Why do we have to wait til the last second to find out there is an XP Event this weekend. I cannot plan ahead to make time so I can play if the XP event is ALWAYs announced a day ahead of time.

Where are the mass emails to try to get players back?

I understand we all have bills to pay. BUT...... The Cost of the Monthly Premium and premium items must be lowered. Compared to other NEW games. They are ludicrous. This is an 11 year old Sprite data game. The Content does not deserve top dollar market value. The New Series 1 and 2 BB prices/attainment is ridiculous.  Maybe the Monthly must remain the same as Server cost is server cost.

I understand leveling is supposed to take time but NF is slow and without events. Not close to rewarding as other games. Look at the XP charts and see how long it takes to level especially with non event XP and game waiting to start times. Then add in the 50% win/loss rate that KILLs your XP gain.  Then add in the XP event SHORT notice timeframe.

Make Blitzkrieg rewarding to play. New players get destoyed in GBs.

Limit BB6's when the server count is low. 8 bb's (4 vs 4) total in a GB and people use their MN BB6's and think they are good. I have personally seen the BB count drop once these guys start using their BB6's. You have a 10bb 2cv on each side and no BB6's. The BB6's start to come out and Bam the new guys that cant compete just stop playing. It is very disheartening.

Better not say. Keep.

Here is an easy cheap idea. Get someone to make the Neutral FF-01 and DD-01 sprites real sexy. Think of the new player who logs in an has a mean looking ship right away.

Hate to break it to SDE/TNF, but it's too little - too late for a revamp don't ya think?   All the old players you guys disappointed and angered are busy bashing NF at every turn in EVERY naval game I've tried since the decline here.  YOUR old playerbase is sabotaging you guys for lack of interest in hearing them.  Now, unfortunately, you'll be hard-pressed to even get new players since they are being herded to WoWS, Steel Ocean, and the like.  Even WarThunder is about to launch a naval combat aspect with many of the old players eager to get it.   I'm afraid 10 years of letting things go downhill has finally caught up to you.  People are simply unwilling to pay into a game that constantly favors themselves(SDE) without reward or even a thank you from those that helped line their pockets.

In the spirit of being hopeful however here is a question:  What good is reviving HA and/or new modes for "new" players if there are NO PLAYERS!??!  Don't know when the last time anyone from the company even bothered to log in and see just how low the population is now, but it's not enough for 1 full room....at peak times....on the weekend!  The waiting alone is enough for ppl to move on.  Nobody likes waiting 15 - 20 mins for 1 game that will probably crash half the players in the room.   It's a waste of time.

I wish you guys luck as I'd like to see NF thrive again.....but not holding my breath.  You guys lost your ppl.  Plain and simple.....moreover you did it to yourselves.  Maybe it's just time to accept that, move on, and put effort/resources into something else that might actually make ppl want to participate again.

Merry Christmas to you too vinnson.

This game brings back so many good memories for me, I spent a good few years here and a hefty amount of money too. Was even a monitor at one point and time, although unfortunately I had to quit because I had to leave to work in a different country for a full year. By the time I got back, I moved onto other games and of course most recently World of Warships.

I guess to reflect on all the things that happened in NF while I was still around, I would say that some of the actions of the past really hurt the game. The seemingly lack of giving a damn by the devs, the randomness that led to people getting banned. I remember my best friend at the time was part of a pretty large fleet and then one day the fleet leader was banned because someone with a grudge posted a fake account selling thread, simply listing his account name on a 3rd party forum. I know my friend and the fleet leader tried very hard to help explain the situation and was told to get in touch with the 3rd party forum's GMs and request IP information in order to clear up an issue (something that is utterly impossible as you can well understand). With that, my friend quit the game and not long after the majority of the fleet quit as well. A situation that could have been much better resolved. Furthermore, there was a time when volunteer TNF people got access to payment support tickets, costing players the last chance to actually get in touch with an actual paid employee and resolve any issues. Just bad decisions all around.

But moving on, NF1 had some wonderful mechanics and gameplay. Something that I desperately wanted to see in NF2. SDE had a great chance to just update the engine and graphics of NF1, resolve some bugs and improved their customer care and they would have retained so many of NF1's hardcore playerbase, and instead they gave us the absolutely stupid version of NF2. I tried NF2 and I was disappointed beyond belief and I believe the end result is pretty obvious on NF2, an already dead game.

One last thing, while NF1 was still somewhat popular and the only worthwhile naval game to play, I mentioned in posts that NF should really promote their game on a larger scale. Absolutely nothing was ever done. Now as the player base has become smaller and smaller promoting this old game is really not going to do much for this dwindling population and I'm really sorry to see this game die slowly.

[EDIT] 2011 New Years - something I'll always remember: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCkBZwVtk7Y

I guess the tl;dr version is that this is unfortunately too little too late. The population has moved on and it's very unlikely to come back to this game.

I also forgot to add something else, while I understand that SDE is a business and as a business it's purpose is to make money, the same for companies like WarGaming, but with SDE I can honestly say that there was almost this constant greed. The cost for supervetting crews cost so much money and then bam crew death, you literally had to always have NF-Fixer on just so u can kill the game ASAP in order to prevent crew loss that you spent real money to get. Honestly, crew death was something that should have been gotten rid of. Keep your players happy and they'll keep playing. Also, while I'm not saying WG is perfect, at times they truly do some wonderful things for their player base. The santa crates that were sold this Christmas for $1, $3 and $5 really did have pretty solid chances of netting you premium ships that would normally cost $20-$60. And people bought them, TONS of them. WG still made money, but their crates made their players happy and that's a win-win. Something that SDE never really seemed to get. I mean we did used to call them $DE for a reason.

I agree with iChase. SDE failed to keep their player base happy, which led to the death of this game. That's all there is to it.

I don't even know what you intend to do with these suggestions. Years ago there were fleet leader meetings held where their suggestions and concerns were supposed to be heard by the community manager. Nothing ever came of those.

I think it might be too little too late. The playerbase has had sand kicked into their eyes too many times and many have left completely because they know the moderating crew abuses power. I've been banned twice for bs reasons and I still have come back, I don't know why, but I still do.
