This is to be used only to suggest changes.

There have been many, many, omg MANY Sub suggestion threads and topics, so here is the idea.

You guys all pick some of the concepts, ideas buffs nerfs etc from all the other threads
and add them here.

While you are welcome to discuss why a change would or would not work, keep it to a
logical and clear discussion.

No - "you are only a BB whinner"
No - "You are bias sub driver" in fact any insults will have their post hidden

Make your point - Make it clearly, make it once - anything else will be thermonuked as
will all other sub threads from here on in really.

Tell SDE what you want to see from Subs and sub play with BB play etc for the future

I'll keep checking in and see what you guys have come up with, there is some brilliant
ideas I have read thus far and look forward to them all in one thread and see where it
progresses, hopefully to a positive conclusion where, at least most of the community will
be happy with the changes (if any)

Reality aside (not arguing, debating, or questioning), I like this idea. This would, of
course, replace the deck gun right? Also, if hh's are going to remain as they are, I
should think subs could choose between free but less powerful rockets and pay-to-
play premium rockets. The deck gun would be replaced by a single one-armed-
bandit similar to what Oliver Hazard Perry class US ffg's used to have. Single shot,
30 sec/1min reload, carry up to 10 maybe?

please read back quite a bit and tell me what you think of the battery idea. That
might be what you're looking for. There is also a thread devoted to replacing air
time with battery life. You might want to search for that and give it a good study.

make it so subs can stay submerged for much longer periods, this will make it
important for players to make more use of the frigate and dd classes for scouting
and killing submerged subs. also it would give sub players a much longer life span
and make them a more viable asset. the lower lvl guys probably feel as if they are
useless in gb's so giving them a role with their dd's can only improve great battle's
and improve the games team work and tactics side of things.

subs in the war where especially deadly because they could stay submerged for
such long periods of time.

at the momment a sub can barely make it to the enemy lines without being sunk
straight away, playng them is slow tedious and not much fun as it is.

Give submarines Artillery rockets, to counter Attack ASW sonar and HH range.the cons,
limited, expensive more than HH, and 2% inflicted dmg to BB and cv. Make this weapon
unique to SS4 or higher. Need Gunner to operate this weapon. the More vets the gunner has
the more effective will be the rockets.

HOW TO MAKE SUB PLAY MORE INTERESTING FOR THE SUBMARINERS

I am a die hard sub player as guys on Bismark can probably attest. I think sub play is
starting to get more interesting and integral to the game. We are seeing more people play
subs and more effective ASW deployed. Right now, the balance feels pretty even and I
really like the additional dimension sub play gives to the game.

I am still leveling up my BO in the slim hope that a SS5 would some day come out, but
there are other ways to make sub play more entertaining. Here are my thoughts:

1) Allow sub owners to change weapons setup. Just like the IJN TW have a variety of
torpedoes to pick from, the SS drivers should also have options. Basically, right now, I
know exactly what every sub is armed with when I see it. I would rather have a situation
where subs could be armed with proximity or not proximity torpedos, long range, lower
hitting vs shorter range harder hitting, or slower harder hitting, and faster weaker
torps. Also you could play with the torp size to allow the owners to compensate for the
number carried in their sub -- maybe lower hitting torps would take less space.

2) In the same vein, I would allow more subs to carry mines -- again maybe with the option
of in leiu of torps. And make the reload time short so a sub could basically set up a
mine field. This might be especially interesting for the lower tier subs who have trouble
engaging because of their speed and O2 time.

I think the variety would make the game more interesting and I don't think these changes
would be hard to implement.

you posted the same darn thing 3 post's up, how about you go freakiing read all
topic and you'll know why subs get hited for more dmg and why nobody except a
HANDFULL of ppl whan't it back...IMO -.-

less spaming more reading...

I recently saw 1 DB do roughly 9k damage on a sub. If this was on a T1 it would cripple
it for the rest of the battle, So my suggestion is cap the amount of damage done to a
sub to about 3k. Still a lot but DB's won' be able to hit ridiculous amounts.

I have to say, I love each nations sub style being unique.

The biggest issue is AIR. I can't stress it enough.

If I dive in my SS1 the moment I start getting shot at, 1/5 times I might make it over
to the BB's before running out of air. It's next to IMPOSSIBLE moving 19 knots
underwater to catch a BB, much less cross the no mans land in the middle.

Perhaps we could have a snorkel ability added that lets us stop losing air but
surface ships can spot it in LoS?
That'd make sense to me. ;-P

Can you implement a maximum damage or something from shells and bombs to like 2 or
3k. I saw 1 DB do 9k damage on a sub.

my SS cant make it half way across the map without submerging it would be great if we
had a little bit larger of a time to survive the only real problems with subs right now is
our air time so i think instead of that the battery life would be so much better

got my reccomended now if only a mod would notice this thread
