  • Borderhumping? Yes or No?

I'm actually not sure with this one, so I'm leaving you guys to answer this. I only need a YES or a NO though.

Are you borderhumping planes when your planes are approx. 1 inch away from the border? YES or NO?

*sigh*

Why are people so unable to understand a simple concept?

If a plane is NOT visible (shadow doesn't count) through the normal viewing of Navyfield it is considered borderhumping.

This includes the zoomed out version, something which can be seen when zoomed out but not when zoomed in is NOT considered border humping.

If a plane is visible when the HUD is lowered but not visible when the HUD is raised this is ALSO border humping. The game is required to be played with the HUD up, and as such using it to hide planes is clearly exploiting the game for your benefit.

This isn't a hard concept to grasp, if the plane is not visible on the screen and you are zoomed out, it is border humping... Shadows DO NOT count.

This. I would add that the Shadows and Planes need to be visable, not just the planes. Why?

You need the plane to judge the height, and the shadow to judge where to aim.

I think that's what splid was saying.

And agreed, it doesn't seem a very difficult thing to understand.

border "hugging" is alright. (close to the border, not past them) You take a longer route to your target, hoping you won't be spotted.

Border HUMPING is as the word says, HUMPING the border. You go through. If the plane aren't visible for someone looking straight at where they are, then you are border humping.

Namely, you'll see border humping planes when you see planes coming straight from the border at you. One UK CV player on Kaiser does it a lot.

So your answer would be NO btw.

Yes for Normal Rooms(GBs, Blitz, etc), not for HAs at all. Thats my opinion.

I infered that bit :P

The people who suggest that seeing a shadow is the only thing that is important are hilarious... Obviously height is an insignificant feature of the plane lol...

@OP:

The problem with threads like these is that misinformation is a very large problem in NF. You have asked the question, which is great, and you have been given the answer, but the problem will come 2 days from now when a MOD or some tool in the community says that this isn't the answer.

That is why it is VERY important to know which MODs to listen to, and which to ignore...
