yes, that is all basically correct. However it won't be possible to put 300 vets on a FP because of the max crew size of pilots (even unclassed) and the 40% vet cap. Also the bomber growth is not that high so you won't get above 3000 displayed ability, even at lvl120 if I remember correctly, whereas fighter ability of a FP does indeed goes higher. But yes, if you were to get a pilot with 5k displayed bomber ability (with full vets at lvl120), he'd be immune to all aaw and also to every other 'regular' Fighter pilot (T1-3 planes) in the game - thus making him invincible to everything but those new FPs (I just added that, since I have no clue, how well those local FPs actually do... just one more of thost terrible additions to the game, no one needed) As for your second point.. well... yes, you are right. However since the pilots do not loose in crew growth from rookie to basic fighter pilot, the difference is only in the displayed ability and "not that big". And since we do not know wether the ability calculation will ever be changed, my personal recommendation is, to class pilots up to the basic level (Fighter pilot in this case). Classing them to Ace or SQLdr is a complete waste however, since after that promotion, they also loose(!) in true fighter ability - in addition to the even bigger loss in bomber ability. If you however have a high level scout with +12 base in fighter, +10/11 in bomber, and full vets you will be surprised how well he does as a FP right now.
