As all my "formula-posts" have been recently bumped, I was approached to put
them all into one post so it could be stikied... here it is.

These guides contain advanced information. If you are just starting to play the
game please go ahead and read Obst's guides on www.nf-guides.com. That
webpage gives you all the information you need to start with. If you have done that
and
are still curious about some details, go read ahead.

Since it has quite some information, I divided it into several parts, that are posted as
replies by myself.

0) Ability - how they are calculated / base stats
1) BO's Potential - guideline length / marking distance
2) Accuracy - where's the cap, how is it calculated
3) Reload - where's the cap
4) Torpedo - reload cap
5) AAW - chance of shooting down planes at horizontal and vertical distances with
auto fire
6) Repair - Repairrate and Burnrate
7) Restore - SD
8) Engine

. B - Overheat time
. C - Base speed
. D - natural overheat speed
. E - overheat speed with crew

Also if you think that you have found a mistake, please contact me directly as it most
probably will just be a misunderstanding and I don't want an obsolete discussion in
this post as it just blows it up and might scare ppl away.
I have not included all "proof" in this post - if you are looking for some numbers how
I came up with the formulas, feel free to look for my old posts from between 2005
and now,
and you will find more information in there.

I see you left a spot for pilots...
I would love to see this information as there is alot of speculation.
Maybe its just too big of a secret

I've read through quite a few pages of this thread and I don't quite understand something.

Say I have an 11/11 ACC REL ACC US gunner and the caps for ACC and REL are at 66 and 87
respectively. Assume boosted, with ~110 vets and proper amount of experts.

The question I would like answered is if my spread (ACC) would be at its maximum i.e.
shooting good groups with say something like a sevas at level 66 when I hit the cap.

If that is indeed the case I will be purchasing 2 elite accuracy gunners.

TL;DR: Can accuracy get better after hitting the cap? (I would like to know, as this
influences my decision to buy 2 elite gunners for accuracy)


(It's been 2 years since I last played and all my stuff was reset and no logs to show for
it, so I'm starting from scratch and doing it right this time like 12,10,10 reps and
engies and stuff. I used to run like 9/9/10 supports. lol at my noob days)

I would be interested to see the repair formula...if that doesn't bother you
and i wonder how did u figure out all those formula....try and error? @_@

Trying to figure out the reload time of my torps but the resulting number still doesn't
seem right. But I would do 30.6*566000/(291000 + 283000) and get 30.2 which isn't correct.

No.

Vet's count 4 times as much as experts.. that's where the "(4*vets + experts)" comes from -.-
Anyways it'd be 291k as in (4*20+264)*846

experts, and 846 base ability is 240264 calculated by (20+264) x 846. Is this correct?
Because I am using it in other formulas like to calculate my torpedo reload speed and am
getting awkward answers.
