  • Getting CV Drivers back flying again - Discussion

NZRogue
Hi All,

While im feeling all proactive.

Calmly and rationally - What keeps you out of your CV?

How do we get you back in your CV playing again?

Again - Please keep this clear of speculation, insults. Everyone has their right to a
viewpoint or reason, debate it but do so with reason and back it up.

If not or you cant, then leave it

Yes no doubt this has been discussed to death, but is also a major issue in NF today
resulting in games taking too long to load etc. Yes I also know there is the CV wish list
thread.

This is a temporary quick fire solution suggestion thread - Keep it short and concise

Heres a couple for you

1) Crew death
2) Player abuse (bullying and insults)
3) TB's DB's shortened range
4) Locals need resolving (?)

Added (by community)
1) Torp/DB Damage review

Currently, CV pilots gain 100% EXP. BO and gunners gain 120% EXP. This
causes...issues...when it comes to leveling CVs. Namely, CV pilots tend to drop behind BO
level, causing newer CV players to be stacked against by the autosplit system (I think).

Most people end up leveling their pilots with a BB or something to get around this
problem. Which is, in itself, a problem because it further unnecessarily decreases the
number of CVs.

1) Change exp system for CV to be just like BB
Bombers would get exp for doing damage to enemy ships.
Fighters would get exp for damaging enemy planes, which should be damage caused times 7-15
depending on the fighter you are using, plus a bonus to attack if they shoot them down.
This would allow low level fighters to get some exp, because they will be able to damage
enemy planes and get attack.

2) Eliminate veteran death for shot down planes, only allow veteran death if the actual
ship is hit. Reduce crew death in general.

I don't mind experts dying, but veterans is just annoying.

3) Reduce plane loading times (TIES 3-4-5)

This will move CV ships into a more attack based role, and will be more interesting for
lower level torpedo bomber carriers who get their planes shot down really often

4) Increase plane launch limits (TIES 3-4-5)

A CV6 should be able to put up 21 planes, not just 14. Accordingly, all carriers should be
scaled to about 1.5 times current launch capacity. This increases the pace of CV games.

5) Increase plane speed (TIES 3-4-5)

Plane speed should be increased to the same degree for each plane. Does the current flight
speed seem like 300+ miles per hour that fighters fly at? Plane speed should be increased
to 1.8 times current for ALL planes (number can be adjusted if needed).

Suggestions 3, 4, and 5 are designed to increase the pace of CV warfare, hopefully
bringing some fun back into the class.

6) Reduce bomber damage (COUNTERBALANCE to 3-4-5)

This is due to increased speed. If bomb and torpedo damage wasn't reduced, then carrier to
ship damage would be too great. The reduction should be proportional to the increases in
pace of suggestions 3, 4, and 5. However, the reduction should not be as high as the
actual ratio to help promote carrier to ship bombing.

7) Limit insults

BB and other class ships should not simply find easy blame in the carriers for loses.

8) Increase credit/point gain along with the BB individual attack system. Exp should be
lower than BB exp.

In Blitzkrieg and GB1, the CV has always gotten greater point and credit gain but lower
experience gain. This should carry over to GB2. The CV should get the most points and
credits but a little below average exp FOR THE LEVEL. As a benchmark, in Blitzkrieg, a
good game, not the greatest, nets about 60,000 credits for a CV at level 56.

the things that i really hate as a CV driver is again insulting from the BB's that got mad
because no vision at all... well to be honest some cv 1,2,3 or 4 player try to send their
ftr but they just simply get owned and die so quick that's why they don't want to send
their ftr and do more bombing

don't know what those bb player thinking but i fell like hold on... you guys got scout rite?
got the "R" sign but why still asking a vision if you really need it?

well the reason is simple... they just send their scout to the death.... make em fly to
the destination without knowing how they makes their scout up and down and avoid the
ftr... in conclusion they just send their scout for a food to the enemy ftr

and the others reason i also feel like a maid who serve their master.... look we got the
right to do whatever we want... bombing... ftr whoring or do combination in both rite? and
we also pay the same amount of money(if you do prem subs) and have the same rights but why
bb's player not try to be more independent? and stop relying and blaming the CV because
they can't see? why they did not play a bit more with their scout and got their own vision
before the CV take over it.. too much "CV please send ftr to north/south"

and please stop saying nasty words, bullying or do CAPS to say whatever they want...

1) Cap the levels you can use locals at like lvl 75 so if your fighters are level 75+ you
are outta luck and can't use locals, but you can use T3s so why would you want to. For
those of you that say my fighters aren't level 75 yet and I want to use my Cv4 and compete
then I just have to say *facepalm* go back to at level cv and level your fighters.

2) Also crew death needs to go down a little too, even with lvl 115+ medic I lose crew
85% of games in cv I play. In bb I don't use medic and lose crew maybe 20-25% of games I
play.

1) Torp/DB Damage review

1 -- Way WAY too high.

2 -- Who cares, i just take names and bomb them next game lol.

3 -- Not much of an issue.

4 -- Locals need to be level capped. CV 1's 2's i can understand having...but not cv 5's

Torp/DB dmg review :

With all the AA spam, these BOTH need to be buffed. Bring back the offensive power of
CV's. They were THE capitol ship in WW2 anyhow. Im not saying buff DB's to the point where
you one shot a bb5, but after seeing a flight of 9 KM db's just tickle a L2, you see
where im coming from.

From what i've seen and heard, the problem is simply this: People don't want to play
support. Everyone wants to attack. Everyone wants a big shiny battleship. Additionally, a
new CV1 player's fighters will get chewed up like nobody's business. Even a CV3 has a hard
time these days with lots of pilots being boosted and vetted. It seems as though CVs have
become a pay to win ship.

In my honest opinion, there isn't much you can do to get people into a CV. Possibly a CV
event will spark some new interest, or maybe a damage buff (If not in dbs, at least buff
tbs). Other than that the only thing i can think of is a slight boost in exp for flag, but
in some respects that doesn't seem fair.

As for me, I prefer the CV play style. I will be back in my Essex as soon as my pilots are
leveled.

What keeps me out of my CV?

1) Crew flow has dropped notably with the rise of GB2. I'd love to play more GB1 for
credits, but it doesn't work out. This is why I tend to avoid GB2 in my CV.
2) Local spam just frustrates me. I put up with it because CV rooms are fun, but I'd
enjoy CV rooms more with fewer locals around.

The credit one is a big one, but other than those two I'm pretty much okay. Crew death
doesn't bug me much for some reason, and bombing seems okay as it is. Player abuse is
stupid, but I can laugh at stupid people (or spite them if I'm in a bad mood).

For the red sign... there is something called manual DB/TB

@ angelowang: Stop targeting BBs when your bombers are over your ship. If you can bomb
well they should see the red target for a second or two if there even is one.

@angelo

I've never thought about that, and I agree. BBs can tell when our DBs are closing in on
them because of how they fly; there is no need for a big red target sign that the BB can see.
