  • Getting CV Drivers back flying again - Discussion

    05. 15. 2010 09:21

NZRogue
Hi All,

While im feeling all proactive.

Calmly and rationally - What keeps you out of your CV?

How do we get you back in your CV playing again?

Again - Please keep this clear of speculation, insults. Everyone has their right to a
viewpoint or reason, debate it but do so with reason and back it up.

If not or you cant, then leave it

Yes no doubt this has been discussed to death, but is also a major issue in NF today
resulting in games taking too long to load etc. Yes I also know there is the CV wish list
thread.

This is a temporary quick fire solution suggestion thread - Keep it short and concise

Heres a couple for you

1) Crew death
2) Player abuse (bullying and insults)
3) TB's DB's shortened range
4) Locals need resolving (?)

Added (by community)
1) Torp/DB Damage review

@Nubbles

High level FPs + Low lvl BO ftl. That's why I have T3 on my CV1.

@Erad
Yeah, that sounds about right.

Crew death chances... BBs can only loose crew when they get hit (4-5 times before they
sink each battle)... CVs can loose crew everytime a plane gets shot down and everytime
they get hit (60+ planes and 4-5 hits each battle)... is too one sided.

BBs=4-5 chances per battle to loose crew
CVs= 60+ chances per battle to loose crew

The numbers are just wrong... BBs and CVs should have the same chance to loose crew.

I don't mind the exp, I don't mind the creds and I don't mind the constant BB flaming
ingame... I just hate when I suddenly lag, get my planes shot down and loose a great
ammount of crew (I do have a medic, but just look at the numbers above)

-Increase TB effectiveness. Torpedo is a deadly weapon because it floods the compartment
pretty fast
-More features- such as the stuff said in the Suggestion Forum about CV
(plane formation, ability to cancel flight, splitting a squad to individuals for attacking
effectiveness,
-more exp
-dont buff MN fighters, there DB make it deadly CV line already.
-More scout options( such as a plane for scouting ships and a plane for scouting subs)
- High level CV that are fighting whoring make other CV go away- so make strict rules
about loading fighter whoring
-Take off the locals, the CA/CL plane carriers exploit this, making other CV go away. They
can already DB and TB whore without being called a noob anyway becuase they dont count as
a real CV.

I agree that cv1s should have planespace buff. Probably around halfway between what it is
now and cv2

So about 2200-2400

That gives enough planespace for 20 locals (4 flights), 24 bombers (4-5 flights) or a lot
of t1s (6-7 flights).

That sounds about right?

I mean right now I get about 2 or 3 flights with the cv1 planespace, and that's assuming
you go all bomber/all fighter.

"True, but with those level pilots, every thing you do sucks. Your FP are only good for
bombers and scouts. Your TBs get shot down by AAW before you get a good shot. Your DBs
easily get outrun and shot down by enemy FP (but they do have the best chance of doing
something). On top of it all, there's AA. So I do think that a buff is needed, just don't
make it too huge, which is why I chose 400 extra plane space. Not too much, just 4 DB or 4
FP, but I think it'll make some CV1 or 2 drivers with low level pilots happier."

Yes I know that (been there done that). But snail was looking it from a T3s perspective (which, really,
I still don't understand why one wants to go back to CV1 =/) And I was responding to that that But
nevertheless, yes I agree. GB2 you are faced with T3s and 2s, and you can hardly do anything.

So yeah, then the argument is valid for a buff.

I tossed my CV because of one main reason.
Flames.
I got sick and tired of being called "Nub CV" or "ZomG suxxorz cv." I threw it to
ashes, and learned much more about them, so when I start my second CV line. I
would hope the flames I got will be cut hopefully about 3%

Well, CV1 and CV2 are horrible to play at level. Low-level planes, low-level pilots, small
plane space, and you get utterly destroyed by any carrier higher level. I always feel
guilty when bringing a CV1 or 2 into a GB, since I feel like I'm putting my team at a
disadvantage. It's very frustrating and not fun.

"Oh, I also want to add that I think CV1 and 2 should get a slight airplane space buff. It
kind of sucks only being able to run 16 T3 FP on a Hosho.... Maybe bump it up by 400 for
every CV1 or 2?"

CV1s and 2s were designed to be suiting for players ranging from level 45-60. They were never built
to be T3 carriers...so I don't think the buff is needed.
