LordKelvin
So, with all the spare time I have on campus doing nothing (not to mention the frustration
of rarely ever fighting a worthy opponent in-game whenever I even bother to play), I
thought that I'd spend some of that spare time writing a USN BB guide.

First and foremost, the reason that I'm writing this isn't because Ar2's guide sucks, but
rather that it's horribly outdated, plus it has no information at all on the Northampton line
of BBs (well, I guess that could count under certain definitions of "suck"). The objective of
this guide is to remedy that problem and provide players with an up-to-date source for
using a USN BB. Not necessarily better information, since Ar2 has far more experience
playing than I do, but at least more coverage and updated.

And since I've provided and updated information for more than a single sticky *cough*,
you get to have the privilege of scrolling down to the next post to read what I have to
say.

Nice guide Lord Kelvin! You make it sound like the Colorado is going to be one good ship for me. But I don't
really get what you mean by ninjaing in the Guam (still grinding:( ).

remember Naraxel

when I talked about BVE...each sailor would have a max of say 600 people on him. 109 of
them would be vets and the rest of them would be experts. Having rookies does decrease
the overall performance, which is why most people always convert them to experts.

also, the sailors original base level will effect his performance too. A BVE'd +10 engy
will not do his job as good as a BVE +11 or +12 guy.

50 is pretty good, the engys eventually pay off when you hit montana level.

I removed all the armors except the bulge (currently 50) but my speed didn't increased.

I think my crew is too heavy to get better speed, 27/43 atm with level 72,74,77 engines
(full with experts and 100/100/90 vets).

^^

only put bulge up until you start to loose speed. Don't use deck, belt or bulkhead...they
are useless for US ships.

increasing your speed is achieved by having engineers(this also allows you to overheat for
longer as well) A US BB should have at least 3, but ideally the more the better. These
should be at level with all your other support crew to work efficiently...and they should
be BVE'd if you can afford it. The Sodak is one of the fastest BB's out there

How much armor should I put on my SoDak?

Currently I have 1.0 deck, 25 bulge and 4 bulkhead. With these armors my speed is 27/42.
Is there any chance to increase my speed further? If I remove all the armors my speed will
increase only with 1 knot.

The Powerplant is a USN CV IV Heavy.

iowa is the first dedicated line fighter.

It outranges most of the other BB4's. You should be able to go head to head with
everything else except maybe the BB6's and have a decent chance of winning.

Very useful guide, its always nice to read from someone who seems to know what he/she is
actually talking about. I do wish you had more on the Iowa though since that is in my
current shipline lol. Thanks for the info!
